Skills: Working knowledge of human information processing concepts
and the design of human-machine interfaces.
Exp in the design of user interfaces of telecom products,
services, and support systems.
Understanding of process analysis and practical experience
with developing functional requirements, customer service
descriptions, and user interface designs.
Knowledge of and ability to design, perform, and understand
human factors experiments.
Skills to perform statistical analysis of behavioral and
subjective user data.
Familiarity with UI design standards for telephones,
computers, and evolving information appliances.
Human Factors experience in one or more of the following
technology areas is a plus: Voice over IP, speech
interfaces, e-commerce web design, or call centers.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Ph.D. in Engineering Psychology, Human Factors Engineering,
Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Industrial
Engineering, or a related field; or
a Masters degree in one of the above fields from an
accredited university and a minimum of two years of relevant
industry experience; or
bachelors degree and a minimum of four years relevant

Scope: Position Description: This position requires an individual
with proven technical skills within the Human Factors and
Usability discipline. Individuals will have or be capable of
exhibiting contributions in specific technical areas
including: user needs analysis, task flow analysis,
interface design, usability testing, and statistical data
analysis. In addition, the individual will have worked or be
capable of working on projects of moderate complexity,
managing technical issues to a successful conclusion. They
will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of
data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. They
should be able to work independently or in a group and
require little supervision or guidance. This position will
be required for a 12-18 month period with a possibility for
full time employment at the end of the contract period.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for performing human factors
design, testing, and applied research for telecommunications
products and services including user/task flow analysis,
user/process modeling, and user interface design. Work will
include support of various marketing and product
development organizations within the family of companies.
The position will be responsible for analyzing client
business processes to understand goals and strategies and to
utilize proven Human Factors methodologies and tools to
recommend changes that will improve the overall usability of
the design or process. The goal is to produce products
and services that are noticeably easier to use than that of
our competitors. This individual will be responsible for
planning and executing usability experiments and studies in
a variety of user environments.
Responsibilities:

telecommunications products, services, and user/process
modeling.
