based scalable software on time, on budget, and in compliance
with customer requirements.
Expert knowledge of application design principles, practices,
system development methodologies, and software life cycles (OO
preferred).
Technical team management experience.
5yrs of software development experience.
3yrs UML experience.
Strong OOA/OOD experience.
Knowledge of and exp with the Rational Unified Process(RUP).
Comfortable working under design and coding standards.
Proficient in Java, J2EE, JSP, EJB, XML, Struts, JUnit and Web
Services.
Proficient in at least one of the following: JMS, JAAS, Message
Queuing.
Excellent oral and written skills.
Experience mentoring development team members (preferred).
Proficient in the use of design patterns, distributed
applications, and messaging.
Experience in a combination of system and application
architectures.
Proficient in one or more of the following: WebSphere, Weblogic,
JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgresQL.
Certified Sun Java Developer.
Proficient in Windows operating systems.
Proficient in Linux operating systems.
Scope: Be responsible for the lead design role on a given full SDLC
project during inception and elaboration stages and function as
the technical lead during construction. Be involved in supporting
pre-delivery efforts in terms of working with the user team during
meetings/presentations, crafting initial solutions, assisting
with time estimates, and writing proposals. Assist the program
and project manager in tailoring Rational Unified Process (RUP)
to the project. Use Unified Modeling Language (UML) to create
system and subsystem designs. Lead the development team in
problem solving. Mentor development team members. Under minimal
supervision, plan, coordinate and analyze new and existing
application designs/techniques to meet current and future needs.
Work with users and developers to analyze, design, and implement
application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems which
may include specific project team leadership. Provide technology
expertise in a variety of areas.
