Job Description: Computer Operator I is a full-time position and operates as a member of the User Support Group of IT. This position provides automation support to the end users of the Credit Union, and reports directly to the User Support Team Leader. Primary responsiblity is to perform basic functions associated with the operation of the credit union and to process a variety of scheduled routines. Works shift work, as well as weekend days. Performs under general supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Performs regular scheduled operational routines and maintenance

 Exercises sound judgment in completing assignments

 Works and troubleshoots any exception conditions

 Restarts failed daily batch jobs following documentation provided

 Provides users with computer reports/output in a variety of formats

 Set up and run jobs, operate and monitor the system console and related equipment, recognize typical problem conditions and take corrective action

 Must be able to deviate from normal procedures and exhibit individual judgment in solving detailed problems

 Monitors and troubleshoots all interfaces with other vendors

 Reviews and performs preventive maintenance for daily and monthly tape backups for all network servers and mainframes

 Maintains all documentation for daily operation procedures

 May be required to perform housekeeping duties to assigned work areas

 Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

 Protects the confidentiality and integrity of financial sensitive information and maintains the technical mechanisms of legitimate access and release of the data to meet the requirements of the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA)

 Performs other duties as requested SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None required QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Previous experience in working in a team is essential. Able to work independently during shifts where supervisor is unavailable, and make decisions on when to call for additional support. High school diploma, A+ Certification a plus. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer services skills MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to review reports for accuracy, sometimes adding figures to be sure reports are in balance. Ability to think logically and solve problems. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Occasionally needs to install equipment and cabling. Hours are extended on paydays and month end. Rotating Saturday shifts are required. Carries a beeper on a rotating basis to support the ATM and the Voice Response system. Required to respond to pages and report to work within 1 hour to get the systems up. All positions require a U.S. citizenship and a Federal Government Security Clearance. NWFCU will sponsor the clearance process for qualified applicants. All Applicants will be subject to a credit history check in order to determine eligibility with NWFCU.
