Solid knowldge of NEBS compliant design and Spanish speaking a plus.

Mechanical design of broadband RF and fiber optic video, voice, and data distribution equipment (RF amplifiers, fiber optic nodes, and RF and cable-optic headend) from concept to production. Design of die cast, plastic molded, machined, and sheet metal parts using Pro/ENGINEER. Design of mechanical packaging for fiber optic components and cable. Lead design development by performing heat transfer, stress, and fluid flow analysis using FLOTHERM, Pro/MECHANICA, and ANSYS. Review and approval for all documentation of new and existing products. Coordination of project work through Machine Shop and Reliability Lab is required. Specification of materials, finishes, platings. Develop qualification test plans. Participate in the conduction of qualification tests. Prepare analysis and test reports. Interface with Nogales manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers. Support component engineering group with component research. Direct workflow to less experienced mechanical engineers and mechanical designers. Hold mechanical peer design reviews. Establish design and documentation standards and guidelines. B.S.M.E. from accredited engineering curriculum (required). M.S.M.E. from accredited engineering curriculum (desired). Experience with fiber optic cable packaging and reliability aspects required. Expert knowledge of Pro/ENGINEER and AutoCAD modeling software required. Expert knowledge of finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics software (FLOTHERM, Pro/MECHANICA, and ANSYS) required. Expert knowledge of ASME Y 14.5M-1994, Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Expert knowledge of design for manufacturability. Minimum 7 years experience in electronic packaging. Minimum 5 years experience in thermal and structural analysis. Excellent communication skills required.
