Thanks as always. As I've said many times before, if it wasn't for your work on FSF Gnat for Mac I would never have even considered using Ada again.

Re: Re: Mac OS X 10.5 - Mathematica 5.1 hangs
I have been considering making a switch from Windows XP to a Mac for a while. The arrival of Vista makes the decsion a little harder, and I have just been told that Mac Office 2008 will not include VBA which means some of my spreadsheets won't work under Leopard. I visited the Apple Mac store this past weekend to see a demo - and was a little shocked that the demo machine crashed four times in one hour. It seemed like iCal, Time Machine and iPhoto are not stable and likely to be a huge pain. I also note there is a major bug which results in lost files during copy and move operatio...

ANN: GCC 5.2.0 for OS X El Capitan
This compiler (native only at time of writing) is on Sourceforge[1]. Problems with the 1.5.0 Java Plug-in on Mac OS X
Sorry for the crosspost, I wasn't sure if this was best targeted at Java or at OS X. I am having some big problems with the 1.5.0 Java Plug-in on Mac OS X 10.4.7. I am having problems running it on OS X with both the Safari and FireFox browsers. The initial problem is the download and execution of the applet. I've tried using both the <object> and <applet> tags but see the same problem with each. What happens when the applet tries to lo...

Help Browser issue in 5.0.1 on Mac OS X
Has anyone noticed a (minor but irritating) bug in 5.0.1 Help Browser on Mac OS X that wasn't present in 5.0.0? The browser design in V5 seemed to have gone backward compared to V4 (on the Mac front end at least). For example in 5.0.0: Click on Add-ons& Links. The next column brings up the sub folders but no scroll bar. You need to click on the bottom folder, in this case MathLink, to bring up the scroll bar and access the folders below MathLink (such as J/Link, webMathematica and so on. This was irritating. Now in 5.0.1 the only way to access folders below MathLink in th...
