I don't know what the "/\/\oo/\/\" is.  It looks like a spider maybe?

Also, to address your post, I don't know enough about you to formulate an opinion of either understanding, or surprise, in this case. :-)  So, I'll err on the side of surprise! :-)

A spider is a type of bug in my book -- when I broaden the term to mean 
"unwanted pest" or some such.

He's just clearing-up *my* misfortunate use of a word.  In a programming 
context, "contribution" nearly always means "did some coding on."  I meant 
it in the more generic sense.  All thanks goes to Frank for the actual code.
