2)  while ( TooHot(temp) )
         temp--;

3) Call JetBlue and see if they fly to Anchorage.

1. Don't.

2. If tip 1 isn't an option, code in an air-conditioned room or while
telecommuting from a cool-weather vacation spot. See
<ftp://ladsweb.nascom.nasa.gov/allData/5/MOB11C1D/2012/186/MOB11C1D.A2012186.005.2012187112720.jpg>
to choose a suitable location to telecommute from.

I went looking for a global temperature map at the standard weather
sites, and was surprised to not be able to find one. Lots of
continent-scale maps, and world-wide lists of cities by temperature, but
no world-wide temperature maps. Picking a data source associated with my
own work wasn't a matter of self-promotion; it's just the best source I
could come up with quickly.

One of the reasons I wound up working in the computer center in college
was because the machine room was air-conditioned to about 60 degrees
Fahrenheit.

Can I ftp myself over to you, and work there? (Sorry, I know ftp is OT here.)

I'm italian, working in the north of germany: it's July and I'd love to work in hot weather if that means to have just a single day without rain :-)

You're welcome. Bring your umbrella and gumboots. Fortunately we haven't
(yet) had real flooding where I am.

When I was in grad school, I spent a summer waiting tables in an old-
school pizza place in NYC, with no AC. Damn, did that ever suck.

As long as you've got AC, there's nothing to complain about.

It's certainly cool down here, the local ski fields are having a bumper
season!

Find a darkened room with no outside windows and crank the A/C down as far as it will go.

At least it's raining this year (central TX). I'll take the heat as long as it rains.

Depends whether is a application module or is a library function.

.... because if it's a library function, take your laptop down to the local
library and use their A/C to cool off.

Fly to Antarctica, or at least the southern end of Chile, then go ahead.

Turn off the computer (=heating) and do the thinking part using pencil
and paper.
