"error: cannot read:" (use the list file name written in a file)

Hello:
When I compile the java source using command
javac javatest\kernel\*.java
it's perfectly work

but I have a lot of source code and distribute over many directories
So I write a file that contains:
javatest\data\*.java
javatest\kernel\*.java
....
names this file as "makefile.txt"

and use the command
javac @makefile.txt
but I got a error
error: cannot read: javatest\data\*.java

please help me

The documentation for "argument files" clearly states that they
cannot contain wildcards.

See:

Acronis 10 and Vista x64: "failed to backup file or folder" "error reading the file" 0x40001
I get that error message periodically when attempting either a full or incremental backup using Acronis (files and folders selected). I contacted their support, they mentioned checking the disk for errors, I've never been able to find anything wrong with the drive itself. Has anyone run into this and found a fix? So far, as far as I know, only Acronis will work in doing backups (selected files/folders) in Vista x64, as Retrospect and Save&Restore arent out yet for x64 Vista.. so this is quite troubling (as the Vista standard backup software is terrible for the power user...

make "File name" default when searching in an "open file" dialogue ?
With Snow Leopard, I have noticed that if, in a file selection dialogue, I want to use the search feature, as I start typing in the search box, the dialogue changes to a search dialogue with a default set to "contents". Anyone know if there is a way to have it default to "File name" ? I find it annoying to have to switch from typing, move mouse to click on the "file name" button, then click back into the input field to finish the seach term. I know this isn't a major issue, but if there were a way to get it to use "file name" by default...

even so called "text file", acturally it's also stored in the binary format. niy38@hotmail.com (Niy) writes: > even so called "text file", acturally it's also stored in > the binary format. There isn't a difference on unix. Unix sees a file as simply a sequence of bytes, which it does not try to interpret. Interpretation of file formats is done at the application level. For example, a database program would expect a certain format, a text editor another format, but the standard I/O routines just deal with streams of bytes. What's the issue you...

HELP!
In the era pre-Spotlight, I used the Finder's Find File utility for housekeeping. I generally name files by date so a search using a full or partial text string would locate all files referencing a specific date. I also searched for files using the "last modified" criteria to find files changed on a specific date. Now under Spotlight, the "name" search criteria produce results that are woefully incomplete. For instance, a recent search for files with name containing "060602" produced only one result via Spotlight whereas Easyfind found 14 files. In Spotlight,...
