xtemplate example
Hello all, I intend to do composition of several tex documents to one big document. The objective is to not do this composition on pdf level but on, e.g., section level. I found the xtemplate package and I think the 3 main features are exactly what goes into my direction: • Creating a new version of the implementation code of the class and editing it. • Loading one of the many packages to customise certain elements of the standard classes. • Loading a completely different document class, such as KOMA-Script or memoir, that allows easy customisation. These 3 features come from the documentation. But the problem I have is that I cannot find any example about using xtemplate on a concrete use case. Are there any example on the web I can have a look at on how to use xtemplate? best regards, Gilbert On Apr 18, 10:38=A0pm, Gilbert Mirenque <format...@gmx.de> wrote: > > These 3 features come from the documentation. OO example
Hi, OK, to put the "C++" vs. "C" discussion in more realistic terms... here's a concrete example of a recent application that I *thought* would be perfect for a C++ (i.e., a more formal OO model) implementation: The goal was a Rubin-esque (tee hee hee... play on words!) gesture recognizer. As "gesture" is a highly overloaded term (trust me :> ), I'll explain for folks who aren't familiar with Rubin's work. The recognizer attempts to match 2-dimensional "drawings" to prestored "templates". Folks who have used PDAs... "gesture" it most closely matches (if any). This is called an on-line recognizer in that it needs to "watch" the actual drawing being made. Or, more specifically, it needs to see a time-ordered set of (x,y) pairs from which it can deduce the appropriate "features". [contrast this with an offline recognizer which just looks at the resulting 2 dimensional *image* -- like the post office trying to recognize the ZIP code on your mail without watching you *draw* each of the digits] The "features" that are measured seem to be somewhat ad-hoc. For example

vectorizing speed for mm6 example
Hello I hope somebody out there tested the first example from Mastering Matlab 6, about the speed comp. for updown.m files 3,4,5. the results given by the author in p.679 shows 9.1, 1.3, 1.0 respectively. my test shows that 1, 3.004, 1.804 which mean the updown3 non-vectorized version is the fastest. did that happen to you and if so. what is going on? my ram is 256 and the page memory is up to 2MG. so I have lots of it. hummmmm thanks alot Edo wrote: > Hello > I hope somebody out there tested the first example from Mastering > Matlab 6, about the speed comp. for updown.m files..., so I can't check that specific example. -- Steve Lord slord@mathworks.com Edo wrote: > Steven Lord wrote: > >> Edo wrote: >> >>> Hello >>> I hope somebody out there tested the first example from Mastering >>> Matlab 6, about the speed comp. for updown.m files 3,4,5. >>> the results given by the author in p.679 shows 9.1, 1.3, 1.0 >>> respectively. my test shows that 1, 3.004, 1.804 which mean the >>> updown3 non-vectorized version is the fastest. did that happen to >>> you and if so. what is going on? my
