Are *you* crazy? People here are immune to blogspam advertisements, so save
your breath.

For the black hats:
- they may infect readers with malware
- they can make money for adds on their blogs (*)
For the white hats:
- very little
- it is more personal and they can better keep it / control it
(news posts expire from news servers and Google Groups and other
archives are readonly)
Arne
*) white hats can also use adds, but then it is a small benefit that
help pay for the web space not the purpose of the blog

For white hats:
Usually you can disable user comments at a blog, which allows you to
remove annoying spam postings, unlike Usenet, which has got a lot more
of them lately. CF the OP.
So theoretically, you can have higher quality content at a blog, or at
least a more consistent level of quality anyway.
