The dialog box you speak of normally only comes up if the client machine
does not recognise the mime type being passed to it. Not sure how you'll go
about fixing this. Check the section regarding MIME types in your ISM

Extending the file open/save dialog? Hi,
on Windows it is possible to customize/extend the file open/save
dialog with callback functions.
Are there comparable "features" on the other supported platforms?
If so, what's about to provide options to set tcl commands/scripts to
be invoked if the callback functions are invoked?
This would allow to extend the file open/save dialog in a new way from

Remember location on save, re-open? Is there a way to get emacs to remember where you left off last time you
were in a file? Ie, if I'm at line 100... close the file and then
re-open it, it brings be back line 100. I've seen this behavior in vim,
but haven't be able to recreate it in emacs.

problem in saving images using imwrite Hello All,
This post is regarding imwrite which saves images into a seperate folder.Initilally I've generated images from a .mpeg video file using VLC media player in .PNG format and saved processed images to folders at runtime using "imwrite" and the things went well. But after generating images from .avi video file using KMplayer and fed the processed images to imwrite, I found folders were empty. When I used .mpeg I got images in black and white format and I used .avi(same file as .mpeg) I got images in gray scale format.
Could any one suggest me where the things went wr...

Deleting "In Use" Empty Folder from iDisk My iDisk Public folder contains a single item, an empty folder. When I try to
delete that folder I get a message that it cannot be deleted because it is
"in use". Is there some magic I can undertake to delete it?
Helpful suggestions will be most appreciated!

Strongtalk virtual-machine is now fully Open Source! For those of you who have heard of Strongtalk (or if you haven't, but
you care about dynamic optimization, performance in Smalltalk, or type
systems), there is great news today:
Sun Microsystems has at long last released the Strongtalk
virtual-machine as Open Source! This means the entire Strongtalk
project is now fully Open Source, under a basically unrestricted
Berkeley-style license, at http://www.strongtalk.org/.
As many of you may remember, Strongtalk was (and still is) the fastest
implementation of Smalltalk ever. It also included the only fully
developed type-system for Smalltal...
Is it good to use char instead of int to save memory? Hi,
Is it recommended to use char instead of int for variables that you
know never will contain a value larger than 255? A small example
//int i = 1;
char i = 1; //is this better than previous line?
What are the pros and cons of using char instead of int when values
will not exceed 255?

Apple Mail App (Leopard) Help needed on two points please.
First, Mail App gives me the option (mailbox menu) to "Use this folder for"
which is useful when setting up the likes of Gmail imap. How, though, do I
undo this and revert to the previous state?
Second, Gmail via the interface has a nice way of dealing wiih Archives. As I
see it it removes all the labels leaving the mail visible only on the All
mail view. Is there a way to replicate this behaviour on Mail App?

What app can open Divx avi and save without reencoding? If I open a Divx-encoded avi movie with QuickTime Pro and cut 10
seconds off the end of the movie I don't seem to be able to save it as
an avi movie, only as QuickTime mov, unless I reencode the whole thing.
I would like to go even further and replace the sound track of an avi
and save as avi without reencoding the Divx video.
You see I just got a Philips DVP642 DVD player that plays an avi
movie simply burned to a CD as a data file. But it won't play movs.
Are there some simple things someone can tell me? And where is the
best place to learn about making avi movies with Qui...
Anyone know what BusinessObjects uses to "Save As PDF"? I'm getting nowhere with BusinessObjects documentation or support.
Here's the situation. BusinessObjects is a report generator. You already
knew that, because you would have skipped this message if you didn't. It
has its own file format, .rep, and an interface that borrows heavily
from various Microsoft controls to lay out reports.
If you Save As PDF, it generates a PDF that opens with bookmarks--very
handy. However, there is no place to define any settings or parameters
for PDF generation, and the resulting PDFs exhibit an odd problem. If
you use a symbol font, Monotype So...
Desktop app for stripping comments from a group of files from one folder and saving them in another Hi,
I have an web app Im building and unlike the previous programmer, Ive
collegues can understand how it works. Now, as much as Im pleased with
this when it comes to deploying the JS files onto the live server I
dont want my comments to be there as we do have competitors who might
benefit from knowing too easily how we go about doing some of the
stuff we do. Sounds petty I know but thats how it is.
Ive used a couple JS compressor tools before but they can be quite
time consuming when you have many JS files as I do. What I...
