Is there any way to have the block diagram adapt to your windows color
scheme? I know you can change colors under the options menu but this
does not affect older vi's.

No, LabVIEW does not expose to users any way to do this.

Older VIs have already been saved with an RGB color. For any given
diagram, you can color it whatever you like, and if using a newer
version of LV, you can use a System color that isn't a TRUE RGB, but
will continue to adapt to the system color palette. If you want all
newly created VIs to do this, make yourself a template. But for already
created VIs, their author selected the color and there isn't an override.

blocks
Hello, In standard programm languages there are possibilities to mark some lines in code not to execute them (for example, if we have written some code and want to use keep it in programm, but don't need to execute it right now) e. g. ** //   Does LabView allow to mark several blocks on block diagram, to have them on it, but not to execute?   Thank you in advance. FIFO for a synchronous block block diagram
I am trying to convert a synchronous data flow graph into a synchronous block diagram in simulink..! I have 2 blocks A and B with a FIFO in between them for buffer. A has to produce 2 tokens in a iteration and 2 on the next. These 2 tokens from 1st iteration has to be stored in a block(FIF0 queue) and if it is reaches 3 ( on next iteration) it should trigger B I need to figure a FIFO model with some specifications. -FIFO register size 4, as we should store 4 tokens -The criteria for firing of A (producing 2 tokens) is that there should be 2 free space at the head of FIFO -The...

my block diagram doesnt exist any more. i've remotet the pc with labview by pc-anywhere (norton utility). surprisedly the block diagram is deleted.but the front panel is identic like before. i restartet my pc but the block diagram isnt there. is it possible to bring it back. the vi isnt executable! if i call the block diagram the block diagramm is empty. I don't what kind of relationship installing pcAnywhere might have with your problem unless a remote user got in and messed with your code. I'm assuming that you're seeing this problem when you're working locally. If &quo...

Block Diagramming
To my knowledge there is no formal definition of block diagramming "languages" outside of such proprietary applications such as Simulink and it's ilk, or such things as ladder diagrams (which I'm going to claim isn't the same thing). One sees minor variations of block diagramming style within a discipline like control systems engineering, and there can be severe divergences between disciplines (the common x in a circle that denotes a summation block in control, for instance, usually denotes a multiplier or other frequency mixing function in a radio). This makes s...

Increment from block diagram
Hi, I'm using numeric control on the front panel with increment buttons. What I would like to do is have a true condition on the block diagram automatically increment the numeric control on the front panel (no mouse click). Is this possible? Does anyone have an example. Thanks. You can use either a local variable or a property node. This shows the action performed from a Boolean control, but the Boolean value can come from anywhere:<img src="http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/170/333824/1/increment.PNG"> To learn more about LabVIEW it is recommended that you go through th...

Investigate Block Diagram
Is there a way to search a Simulink block diagram for a particular string entered in the Parameters of any block. Instead of using get_param 'gain' for gain blocks, and 'constant' for constant blocks, and 'num' and 'den' for transfer function blocks. Is there a way to just cover everything? Right now my method is to read in the mdl file as a text file and look for the string there, but then it comes up if it's say the name of a block instead of a Parameter of a block. disappearing block diagram
I am using LabView 7.1 and am having a problem with the block diagrams in a couple subVIs disappearing. I have not saved them with options this way, and I am the only person using this computer, so I know no one else has changed them. If anyone has a solution for this problem or has seen it before, please let me know. Hello mhester, Is the option to <b>Show Block Diagram</b> disabled on these VIs or is the block diagram just not visible when you try to view it. If it is the later, it could be a case where the block diagram is being opened off screen. This is often common when...

How do I get the block diagram back
Please, please, please tell me that someone has come up with a way to get the block diagram back after choosing "application distribution" from "save with options". Got a bit tired and over wrote the original VI I was working on and now I can't get in to edit it. Perhaps someone from NI can contradict me on this one, but I think once the block diagram is gone, it's gone. It's not hidden, or passworded, it really is removed as far as I know. I've been in the same position, and the only option is to re-write from memory, or re-build from an intermediate vers...
