DAQ #3

Hi friends,
i'm doing a project by converting TTL signal to NIM
signal. now, i need to interface the output of the project with PC.the
data acquisition is just to show the wave form in the waveform graph.
the voltage for NIM for logic 1 is -1V and logic  0 is 0.2 V. kindly
wanna ask, what is the next step i going to do for the interfacing part.

my question
1. what i gonna use for the DAQ? digital input or analog input? if any of them, what is sub DAQ i going to used?
2.im using labview 6i to do the interfacing and daq card PCI-6024E 68
pins.but i used the converter to change the pin from 68 to 50 pin and
the  connector block  for DAQ.

looking forward to hear from you guys. thanks a lot

I'm newbie of Labview and maybe i asking some kind of stupid questions. anyway, i'm desperate for help. thanks.

best regard

hi, thanks for reply.
first of all, i need to read 2 signals in 2 different channels.
im using the 50 pin E serries connector, and the channel for TTL is pin 25 , DIO 0, and for NIM is analog channel pin 3.
i need to put the input singal into 2 diefferent waveform graph and
another 1 is comparison of 2 signals in a waveform graph which i bundle
waveform graph 1 and waveform 2.

thanks for help man.

regards,
chang.

Time in LabVIEW DAQ Assistant and Write LabVIEW file
Hello all, I would be extremely grateful for your assistance in helping me understand the timing in LabVIEW. Here are the details of the system. The data acquisition is done using a simple LabVIEW 8.2 based program consisting of a DAQ Assistant VI and a Write to Measurement File VI, which writes data in TDM format (binary with XML header). The hardware consists of a 1042Q chassis that contains 2 PXI-6133 cards. 16 transducers are connected to these 8 channel cards. The chassis is connected to a PC by means of MXI-4 fiber optic cable and a PCI-8336 card.   I would like to sample all 16 channels simultaneously at 500 kS/s for 2 secs. or 1MS/s for 0.5 secs. When the signals were sampled at 500kS/s x 2secs., the time column looks like this when opened on DIAdem.   Serial#   Time   Time(in secs. when displayed in number format with 8 decimals) 1     07/10/2007 00:09:42.1406     63351158982.14060800 14   07/10/2007 00:09:42.1407     63351158982.14069760 64   07/10/2007 00:09:42.1408     63351158982.14080000 109 07/10/2007 00:09:42.1409     63351158982.14090240 etc.   The time does not change from serial 1 to 13, and only at the 14th row does it change, after which it remai...

How start many labview sessions (instances of labview.exe) ? #3
I mean could I start many instances of labview.exe like excel.exe, word.exe, visual basic, .net , ... You posted many instances of this question... ;o) I never tried, but never needed to... Hi this is my first mail to this group. I hope this group will be helpful for me. In Labview , What is the difference between .dll files and .exe files in terms of how they call during the execution and in terms of memory management. Please reply Raman The main difference is that an exe is a stand alone executable and a DLL is a collection of functions as they were implemented in LV. That allows you to write a function in LV and call it from another language. Using either of them will invoke the LV run-time engine (which takes an&nbsp;X amount of memory, depending on the version and th...

How can I convert the &quot;AI one pt&quot; symbol from LabVIEW 6.3 to LabVIEW 8.0?
Hi, &nbsp; I've got an assignment with LabVIEW and&nbsp;I work with LabVIEW 8.0. The program I work with is written in LabVIEW 6.3 and had to be converted&nbsp;to LabVIEW 8.0. That went very well, except for one symbol. The "AI one pt" symbol (see&nbsp;enclosed figure) turned into an empty box (question mark). My question to you is how can I overcome this problem, or how can I simulate this symbol with LabVIEW 8.0? &nbsp; With kind regards, &nbsp; Sander Smeets &nbsp; <img src="http://www.ese.upenn.edu/rca/software/Labview/labview41/inputoutput/AISamplechannel.gif"> Hello, Graziano is right about this. To make it completly clear: The block you refer to as a symbol is a VI belonging to the Traditional NI-DAQ driver. Currently there are two drivers for DAQ boards: DAQmx (the new one) and Traditional NI-DAQ (the old one). Since your VI was written in LabVIEW 6.x (6.3 never existed) the VI uses the old driver. What you need to do is: install Traditional NI-DAQ on your PC to get the support VI's for the driver in LabVIEW. This Traditional NI-DAQ installer&nbsp;should be on the driver CD which was delivered along with LabVIEW 8.0 or you can download it here: <a href="http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/586/lang/en" target="_blank">http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/586/lang/en</a> There is one good point though which Graziano already mentioned: Which DAQ board are you using? When the NI-DAQ drivers are installed, the installer will automatically detect the versions of LabVIEW present on the computer. Most often, the DAQ support for these versions of LabVIEW are then installed. Unfortunately, this means that if you upgrade to a newer version of LabVIEW you will need to add DAQ support for your newer version of LabVIEW by modifying/reinstalling your DAQ drivers. Steps to ensure driver VIs appear in LabVIEW: - Ensure that all development environments being used (LabVIEW, CVI, etc.) have been installed before the device driver. Installing LabVIEW after a driver will not update the functions pale...

DAQ trigger for labview

It was only mentioned at the end of Newport's manual n so, I missed it first time. Now, I have to adopt to slow data acquisition and&nbsp; I have to do it using software and of course, there may be some latency in program execution; but, I want to minimize that. i.e. I want to avoid using for loop or while loop. Hi,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have a doubt with timed loop....in our project ,at&nbsp; the&nbsp; output&nbsp; of pi/4 dqpsk modulation, the frequency should be 18khz....but in the timed loop block, the internal clock (timing source)is 1khz and 1mhz... and we purchased NI h/w with the FPGA, NI PCI 5640R...Is there any provision in the FPGA to change the clock to 18khz??? you have posted same question in all the forum. stick to a single post. Hi Sumsum, I'm not exactly sure what your doing with your modulation but if I understand your question correctly you are wanting to slow down the rate that the single cycle timed loop is executing.&nbsp; You can simply use a loop timer to do this or you could decimate the timed loop rate.&nbsp; The loop timer would be the easiest way to do this, you just put a timer in the loop and tell it how long to wait before executing.&nbsp; To decimate the loop rate you will need to use a shift register and case structure inside your timed loop.&nbsp; There is an example of this in the knowledgebase linked <a href="http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0A933B88B50046B0862573D30007333E?OpenDocument" target="_blank">here</a>.&nbsp; This knowledgebase deals with a separate issue but shows how to decimate the loop rate as part of the solution.&nbsp; ...
