...How can I convert a vi of 7.0 to 6.0/6.02 without using LabVIEW 7.0?
I have to work with some vi of LabVIEW 7.0, however i only got LabVIEW
6.02. How can I convert those vi files to 6.02?
You not only would need 7.0, but you would also need 6.1 as well.
Version 7 can only save to 6.1 and version 6.1 can only save to 6.0.
Even if you downloaded the 7.0 evaluation copy, I don't know if the
6.1 evaluation is still available for download. Your best chance is to
post the VIs and hope that someone with both versions can do the
conversion for you. You should also be aware that there are numerous
differences between 7.0 and 6.0 and that a conversion might not even...Converting LabView 4 vi. to LabView 7 vi.
I have a collection of programs written in LabView 4. I upgraded to
LabView 7 recently. I am now trying to open my old 4 vi's with no
luck. No block diagram is the error that I'm getting. Any ideas on
converting would be greatly appreciated.
Without a block diagram, you cannot open a VI in a newer version
because the block diagram is required for the recompile. The only way
to upgrade is to find the original VIs with the source code. No one,
NI included, can recover a block diagram once it has been deleted.

recently, we were upgrading from LABVIEW 6i to LABVIEW 7.0 .
Everything seems to be finde with one exception.
In a VI I use an intensity graph (three dimensional graph). The change
of its properties, in particular some values affecting the intensity
display, is done in a SubVI.
This SubVI gets a reference to the intensity graph as handle. The
corresponding terminal in the SubVI is a RefNum control.
In LABVIEW 6i this was working without any problems but in LABVIEW 7,
it does not work anymore.

LabVIEW and MAX use the NI drivers to communicate to cards from NI. A
third party card can work with LV as long as they provide a driver, but
it will not be configurable or testable in MAX even at that point since
the driver will be quite different from the NI driver.

...labview 8.5 to labview 7.0
i am on my labview working with 8.5but at work, we only have labview 7.0.what would be my best way to get my vi to be 7.0?thank you so muchMessage Edited by krispiekream on 06-19-2008 03:59 PM
In order to go from LV 8.5 to LV 7, you will need to have LV 8.5 (save it back to 8.0), LV 8.0 (save it back to 7.1) and LV 7.1 (to save back to 7.0).
If it's only a few small VI's, you can post them on the forum and ask someone to do the saves for you. (Best if you do the save back to 8.0 and post that in order to eliminate 1 of the 3 steps for whoever will do the rest of the conversions for you.)

The first thing would be to stay away from the newer features from
LV7. If you use TestStand, make sure you use the legacy functions.
So in theory, it should work. Try it and post your result..
You may want to try this:

I would be extremely grateful for your assistance in helping me understand the timing in LabVIEW.
Here are the details of the system. The data acquisition is done using a simple LabVIEW 8.2 based program consisting of a DAQ Assistant VI and a Write to Measurement File VI, which writes data in TDM format (binary with XML header).
The hardware consists of a 1042Q chassis that contains 2 PXI-6133 cards. 16 transducers are connected to these 8 channel cards. The chassis is connected to a PC by means of MXI-4 fiber optic cable and a PCI-8336 card.
I would like to sample all 16 channels simultaneously at 500 kS/s for 2 secs. or 1MS/s for 0.5 secs.
When the signals were sampled at 500kS/s x 2secs., the time column looks like this when opened on DIAdem.

Hello, For a independent study Labview class I'm taking, I am trying to create a program that will input two different wav files and combine parts of them together for audio output. The first file I am trying to cut out the bass lines and replace them with the bass lines from the second file. Kind of like turning the second file into a karaoke version and filling in the vocals with the vocal line from the first file. A second option is simply taking the instrumentals from a song (a wav file containing only the bass line) and adding them to the first file after cutting out the original bass line of the first if this isn't possible. I found the attached file while searching for information/examples as to how to do this - it was originally posted at:http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=74618&requireLogin=FalseI tried running the file in Labview 8.20 and it came back with the error that "Build Screen.vi not found." I have searched for this file to download but have come up with nothing. Also, any tips/pointers/comments (or "there is no way this is possible") are much appreciated and very welcome. I have been searching to see if there is anything like this that has been done before and as of yet haven't been able to find anything. I am pretty new to Labview but I am a quick learner and I have a professor working with me on the project that is very familiar with Labview. However, it's spring break right no...
