You don't fax a picture of you to your doctor and expect him to diagnose you. So why attach a picture of your code and expect us to troubleshoot? :D
&nbsp;
If you want help, attach some real code!
&nbsp;
Things we cannot tell!

- In frame 1, what happens in the TRUE case?

- Why do you need to read the "temp target local&nbsp;twice in a row. Is there a chance it will change?

- I only see locals. Where are the terminals?

- You have 3 subVIs, but you only show us one.

- In the subVI, What happens in the other frames?

- in the subVI, how many "index array" do you possibly&nbsp;need for the same input? One is typically enough, you can resize it.

- ...

As far as I can tell, that looks similar to the sequence of frames you had above.&nbsp; I don't see any race conditions within the case structure of code you posted.
&nbsp;
One possible exception is the writing of the false constant to backporch.&nbsp; In your previous code, it was guaranteed to happen after the code that occurred in the 2nd frame.&nbsp; Now it can happen anytime during the execution of that True case, and will likely happen very early.&nbsp; Whether that is a problem for you will be for you to determine.
&nbsp;
In your subVI you use 5 different index arrays to index out elements 0-4 of the args array.&nbsp; You can use just a single index array.&nbsp; You can expand down the border of the VI to get more outputs, since you are looking for 0 through 4, you won't even need to wire in any constants for the indices for that function.Message Edited by Ravens Fan on 07-08-2008 05:22 PM

As I said, DON'T embed images that are wider than a typical browser window.
It is almost impossible to read replies, because the wrap ouside the frame and we constantly need to scroll.
&nbsp;
You&nbsp;can attach them, but don't embed them into the post. Please!

I tried that out too and i realized everything does work normally except for one thing. the Stat_data_meas_param value is not coming out right.the original sequence give me a value of NaN while the new one i did always give me 0can someone show me how to bring out the Stat_data_meas_param from Meas_Mod subvii think thats where my problem is. i dontk now how to work with subvi so well. what i did was i copied the Stat_data_meas_param global and paste it into Meas_Modthen i connect the terminal. that is how you do it right?

Where is the "cluster output" on the subVI diagram connected to the output connector? Are you still writing to the global somewhere?

Yes..&nbsp; there were too many Locals..&nbsp; and Globals..

How is the code now?&nbsp; It is difficult to tell with only some screen captures.

Are you still writing to the global somewhere?at this point. that is the only time it is writing to the global. it will probably write again somewhere is.right now. it is just saving the measured temperature into the data file.Message Edited by krispiekream on 07-08-2008 05:08 PM

Recommendation for your Meas_mod subVI.
&nbsp;
In a couple of places you have your args value in several nested true/false case structures.&nbsp;&nbsp; Basically a large If/Then/Else.&nbsp; In the end, the only output are a pair of booleans.&nbsp; I would recommend creating a single case structure that you wire&nbsp; your arg value into.&nbsp; It would have separate cases for none, stat, raw, both, and a default case equivalent to the false case of are=both.&nbsp; Then you have one case structure and you populate each case with the constants that apply to the true case of each original case structure.
&nbsp;
You might even be able to merge frames 0 and 1 of the flat sequence structure (it looks like there are no dependences) or at least convert them to a flat sequence for easier readability.

You have a couple of pieces of VI's that looked like they were connected at one time, but not anymore.
&nbsp;
In UntitledMod (is that the main VI you are talking about?), the first sub VI is meas_mod.&nbsp; It has a cluster coming out of the middle right side called stat_data_meas_param.&nbsp; But your meas_mod VI does not have an indicator for that, let alone be connected to its connector pane.&nbsp; So you need to add that indicator to the subVI and connect it to the connector pane.&nbsp; (Also connect the Error In cluster).
&nbsp;
In meas_mod VI, you have 2 different global variables stat_data_meas_param and stat_data_meas_param 2.&nbsp; Where else are they used?&nbsp; These are different from each other and neither has anything to do with the wire in the UntitledMod VI.

What you can do is right click on the wire going into or our out one of the global variables.&nbsp; Select create constant.&nbsp; Now you have a constant of the correct datatype.&nbsp; Right click on that and select change to indicator.
Now you have an indicator of the correct datatype which you can wire up to or copy to another VI.&nbsp; (You should be able to do a right click and Create constant directly from the wire, but if not, do it in two steps.)
So you can wire it up in the subVI and also connect one of the connectors in the connector pane to it so you can pass it out of the VI.

Here is a cleaned up version of UntitledMod where I created an indicator from the wire.&nbsp; (And brought in the lost terminals tighter to the diagram and replaced some local variables with unused terminals.
&nbsp;
As for the error message in the screen shot you posted.&nbsp; You will have to debug that meas_mod subVI as that is the source of the error.
&nbsp;
If you still have a problem.&nbsp; Please post all of the latest copies of your VI's.&nbsp; The VI's are scattered among numerous older messages, and they don't often match the screenshots you are posting.

How to eliminate flat sequence/stacked sequence
Hi All, &nbsp; In my applications i have used sequences ... both flat sequence and stacked sequence. &nbsp; I prefer to use flat sequence because it wont hide code.But still in some situations i have to use stacked ones because of the large size of flat frames(if there are more frames). &nbsp; But when i was referring through posts about&nbsp;sequence,i came to know that its not a good practice to use flat/stacked sequences. &nbsp; Will it slow down the performance? &nbsp; Instead of using flat sequence/stacked sequence how can i acoomplish dataflow? &nbsp; ie,i want step2 to be executed only after executing step1 as step 2 is accepting step1's values. Then instead of making 2 frames first one for step1 and the second one for step 2,how can i accomplish this through dataflow concepts. From where i can get good tutorial materials regarding the above? &nbsp; If flat sequence/stacked sequence is not desirable in programming ,i am wondering what is the purpose of the two easy to use things? &nbsp; Thanks in advance One way of doing it would be to make sub VI's for the step1 and step2&nbsp;sections of the program. This makes your block diagram more compact and readable You could use an error in / error out to these sub VI's to&nbsp;ensure data flow direction I recommend you read the <a href="http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4434" target="_blank">style guide</a>&nbsp;and the <a ...

sequences not in sequence
Hello all I was wondering if anyone knew of any problems with sequences in db2 v8.0 running on AIX. Getting rid of DVDs
Is there an easy way to get rid of DVDs that have sensitive information on them? I have a few shopping bags full. I could find anything in the yellow pages that looked like a DVD shredding service. One stationery store offered to sell me a heavy duty shredder for $200. Surely many other people have this same problem. -- Roedy Green Canadian Mind Products http://mindprod.com "Learning is not compulsory... neither is survival." ~ Dr. W. If your question is "How do I create PDF files with PDFLaTeX which do not display their creation date?", then one possibility consists in addings \usepackage{ifpdf} \ifpdf \pdfinfo {/CreationDate ()} \fi to the preamble of your LaTeX document. Getting rid of 10
Hi all I have been on Macs since the 128 back in the early 80's. I have always been into the newest system and software upgrades but now I live in Mainland China and there are no Macs here. It is also difficult to get product upgrades and many of my primary applications will not work with System 10 without an upgrade. I had installed 10 on my G4 powerbook but when I decided it was a mistake I can't get it off the hard drive. I reverted to system 9.1 but no matter what i do, ever Norton Disk Wipe I cannot get the remains of System 10 off of the hard drive. It seems to even re ...
