Why can't I run my VI.exe stand-alone when I can run it from LabView

I made a pretty simple VI in LabView (7.1 on WindowsXP) that uses the NI USB-6009 multifunction I/O device to display 4 AI channels to read voltage (simulate a 4X digital multimeter).

The VI works fine from LabView, but when I built the stand-alone application with the Tools menu feature, it won't run.  I get the following error:
VISA: (BFFF000E) Given session or object reference is invalid.

Any idea what would cause this?  Under Support Files, I only select the single VI (which is included in an .llb file).  Should I be including additional VI's or support files?

Thanks for any input provided.

Alicia.

Can't get labview to write continiously to spreadsheet, writes one column each time program is run, then appends data the next time it is run.
I am attempting to write load cell, linear transducer and time stamp to EXCEL. Due to the limited room in EXCEL I have a sample rate of 10/second. This is accomplished by setting the DAQ assistant to one sample (HW timed) in the acquisition mode of the task timer. A wait timer set at a loop rate of&nbsp;1000 millaseconds is included in the "while" loop to slow the sampling rate down. This works well. Now the data is taken outside of the loop and entered into a "build array" block and then into a "write to spreadsheet" block. This generates only one row of&nbsp;data (3 columns wide) each time the program is run. I need it to run for 5 minutes&nbsp;and collect data every 1/10 of a second, and save it to file even! I have tried setting the sample rate in the DAQ to continuious or N samples, but the program then fails to run. &nbsp; Can someone please give me some guideance? This is my first vi and the fun ended yesterday when I was to have this test run. Thank you. Jim Steinmeyer <a href="mailto:jimsteinmeyer@reinke.com" target="_blank">jimsteinmeyer@reinke.com</a> I could be wrong, but from what I gleaned from your explanation was that you should get rid of the "build array" outside your loop, and set the tunnel to "autoindex".&nbsp; Just right click and select "Enable Indexing".&nbsp; See the pic. How can I run a labview 7.2 vi in labview 8.2
We have several versions of labview running different test and control functions in our facility. There are labview 7.2 VIs in a production setting I wish to reproduce in the test lab. Can I convert them to run on 8.2 or do I have to recreate them in 8.2. I tried to open one in 8.2 and got multiple SubVI's that were not in my program library.. most dealing with AI manipulation. &nbsp; And make sure you have backup copies of your 7.x code. Once you load and save in 8.2, it is a lot of work to get them back to 7.x. Note I used 7.x because I am unaware of LabVIEW version 7.2 even existing. 7.1.1 was the last release prior to 8.0 ...

Hi, I've been going mad trying to figure out why this query will work on some one else's Access 2k but not mine! Can't Open VB Editor and VB scrip won't run AFTER reopening database
I created a database, thought all was fine until I quit it and opened it again. The VB wouldn't run, I couldn't open the editor from design view of any form, and when I tried to open it through the menu, all I would get is a corrupted window (no scroll up button, no way to access the Project Explorer) containing just the one module I had, but I couldn't get to the Class Objects. I tried to compact and repair it, and decompile (that crashed Access). I then made a copy, set the Has Module property for all forms to No, imported everything into a new database, and wrote the code again (this time I exported all the class objects and the module before quitting in case I need them later). It was working fine until I quit it and opened it up again. Something else I tried (well I've tried all sorts of things) was to import just the tables and queries into a new database, create new forms, and copy and past the form objects on to them. I then copied and pasted the script back into the Class Objects. I thought there might have been something that was corrupted in one of the forms, and this was a way to avoid it. No joy. From much playing, I've come to the conclusion (I think) that if I import anything from this database into a new one, it will screw up the new one in the same manner. What's left to try? I'm not starting again so I'm prepared to give this up, it was just a more improved version of an already existing database I'...

Vi outside executable won't run
Hello. I have a main program including a set of vi:s. I then have modules that hook into the program using vi:s in the main program. I call the module from the main program with a open vi reference + invoke node. #1 Main &lt;- #2 module And it works great. I then build my main program to a executable and when I launch the executable (main) there is a popup searching for vi:s and then it dissapears. The module is not executed. I logged the error output on the open vi reference in the main program and it states: "Error 1003, could not find subvi:s". In application.ini i have: [application] viSearchPath="/path/path/application/*" Even if i remove the viSearchPath line the main vi looks for the sub vis, but Im not sure if its actually looking for the vi:s in my executable. Is there a way to check that the application is actually using the application.ini file? Am I doing something wrong? This is possible right? =) I'm running Labview 8.2, Linux version. Any help is more then appreciated. Hello. Yes in a way.&nbsp; Some path seems to be wrong, somewhere. However the module is clearly being loaded. But it cannot find its subvi:s which are in the executable. Which is the problem. Cheers for the quick reply. Message Edited by Fox_Mccloud on 01-05-2007 08:08 AM ...
