Dr Scheme Live Linux Boot CD Several years ago I downloaded a drscheme live linux boot CD which
served me well when I had to boot my PC for any repairs etc. I think
it was based on KNOPPIX.
It served dual purpose of running scheme and knoppix.
It had scheme ebooks, and a complete scheme IDE installed and
configured, ready to use.
Today, I searched for it and I get to a place called Racket
There are win versions and others but this page has no info if this is
a live CD or an install program ?
I dont want to waste time trying all these downloads. Can some kind
soul explain what these a...
Dr. Dobb's Journal: Fostering Little Languages (Scheme!) Just in case it wasn't pointed out already on the group:
"Fostering Little Languages"
John Clements Matthias Felleisen Robert Bruce Findler Matthew Flatt
Our authors present a programming environment that adapts itself to
Basically, a 'quickie' introduction to Scheme, a description of how
Dr. Scheme's IDE is supportive of creating little languages by
providing transparently the same development tools for the 'host'
language to the 'implemented' language. Uses XML-Scheme as...
Scheme reader (in Scheme)? Hi, does anyone know of a Scheme reader in Scheme (for the purpose of
bootstrapping an implementation, of course)? I.e. something that would
build on read-char and perhaps peek-char to provide read ?
I know it's not that hard to write the reader, but who knows, maybe
I'm overlooking some great piece of work that even has support for the
various reader extension SRFI's...

datagrid I am in the process of designing a score board which will list student
scores etc. I want to be able to pulll out all relevant record and out them
into a grid.
this is the code I have so far
Public clsQuiz As Quiz
Private bc As BindingCollection
Private Sub Form_Load()
Set bc = New BindingCollection
Set clsQuiz = New Quiz
Set bc.DataSource = clsQuiz
bc.DataMember = "Student_Stats"
bc.Add dtaGrid, "Text", "StudentName"
bc.Add dtaGrid, "Text", "Percentage"
when I run this code all that occurs is that...
Php / Java grids .NET grids General question for the group. I have a friend who claims that PHP/Java
grids can't touch .NET with respect to dev time, reliability and speed. I'm
not in a position to debate but would like to know the thoughts given the
- Grid will handle 1,000 row, 25 columns record sets on a regular basis
- Multiple users hitting same data set so automatic refreshes will need to
occur frequently, 10 second intervals for example, and a clean/fast repaint
- Maybe of less significance but drag n drop is required.
Don't want to debate the requirements the...
Grids Hi everyone,
Is there a way in which grids can be drawn in a styled document by
using the graphics class (i.e by overriding the paint method of the
jtextpane class or styled document class)??
ps: i am not talking about a jtable but something similar to the html
table inside a htmldocument instead i want the grids to be in a styled
Is there also a way in which html codes could be added into a styled
document(i.e. a html table or other html codes)??
all-to-all scheme Hello,
whats a simple scheme (ignoring the underlying network topology) to
perform an all-to-all communication with single point-to-point
communications? For p processes, i think of something like "p rounds, in
every round r process i communicates with process j = [some formula
depending on r and i]".
The simplest scheme (IMHO) is to have p sendrecv calls on each process.
Alternatively, you could use a staggered scheme (first all even
processes send and odd processes receive and then switch, etc.).
Interacting Scheme and Fortran; what is in store for Scheme in terms of scripting Hia all
Is there any reason why no one posts code showing how to use Scheme
I have never done any serious Unix scripting. However, recently a
colleague shared his Fortran code with me. The Fortran program got all
its input from a .sh script.
while ( $MONTHCOUNT <= $NMONTH )
../FORTAN_PROGRAM.out << EOF
@ MONTHCOUNT ++
How would that look like in Scheme? Is Bigloo capable of doing this?
VHDL clocking scheme VS Verilog clocking scheme Hi,
I am confused about the clocking scheme of the two most popular hdl.
The most common usage of clock and reset signal is clk'event clk=3D1 or
reset=3D1. As you see reset signal seem to be a level sensitive as it
should be. But in verilog the common structure for clocking is posedge
clk or negedge reset. As you see there is an edge constraint for reset
signal in verilog. Why this is different in these hdls. Does this have
any importance from the technology point of view ? I mean if the
synthesized circuits are same or different by the same synthesis tool.

Multigrid interpolation in nonuniform grids Hi, could anyone help me solve this problem please; I have been struggling to find an easy solution:
Figure is on: http://inciinwonderland.blogspot.com/
Given a few scattered starting point coordinates (black dots on the attached figure) on a nonuniform coarse grid pattern, I would like to have a nested loop to reveal the coordinates of finer grid points (as shown by yellow and red points), each sitting in the middle of a coarser square corner. And save all the points in an array.
What would be the easiest (and the most efficient) way to do it in Matlab?
Thank you very much!
Features similar to DSD/DR? List of servers supporting DSD/DR? Is the 'Dynamic System Domains'/'Dynamic Reconfiguration', the only
feature that is used for the UNIX servers, to create multiple
independant (logical) servers from a Single Physical server? If not, I
would like to know about the other features that provide the similar
functionality, in comparison to the DSD/DR feature?
Also, how exactly we can check whether a particular Sun server supports
the DSD/DR feature or not? For example, is it supported with the 'Netra
T2000' server? I tried to find it in the SUN site, but I couldn't.
to find fast function for interpolating irregular grid data to regular grid Hi!
I have a lot of data at irregular grid and
I 'm trying to do some interpolation to regular grid using griddata function.
But it is very slow function.
Does anybobody advice me another usefull function for interpolationg data?
Thanks in advance!

New release of Wraith Scheme (Macintosh) and Pixie Scheme III (iPad) #2 Today I released version 2.22 of Wraith Scheme. Also today,
version 1.12 of Pixie Scheme III was released to the App Store.
Wraith Scheme 2.22 is a shareware and open-source full R5 Scheme
implementation for the Apple Macintosh, with enhancements for
parallel processing, by which I mean multiple copies of the
Wraith Scheme application (separate Unix processes) all running
at once, sharing Scheme main memory.
Wraith Scheme 2.22 is a full 64-bit Macintosh application, that
only runs on Macintoshes with Intel processors that can execute
64-bit code, and that are running at least MacOS 10.6 (Sn...

Yet another LDAP question Running Solaris 9, DS 5.1
I've had the server up and running for a while now working my way through
creating LDIFs for various tasks. One thing different between what I'm
reading online and how mine is setup is that some people seem to have ou's
for shadow and passwd, while I'm using the direct ou=people container with
the posixaccount attributes. Is there an advantage of one over the other?
