How to change form field contents in existing PDF using PHP?

(Probably old issue but I didn't find a posting)

Simple case:
1. I have a PDF file I made with Acrobat PRO. It contains a form with
two fields, "Name" and "TestScore".
2. From my PHP file on linux server I just want to open this PDF file
and change the content of the Name and Testscore form fields.

Could someone show me a simple code example on this?

And what do I need of addons? PDFlib and licences?

Parse PDF Form fields in PHP
Hi. I am trying to find out if it is possible to open a pdf file from within PHP, and parse its contents in order to extract all form fieldnames that might have been previously setup within the pdf itself. I want to find this out so that I can then generate a HTML form with all required questions, which when submitted, will generate a fdf / xfdf file, using the techniques from the following tutorial http://koivi.com/fill-pdf-form-fields/tutorial.php Ideally, I don't want to have to install any libraries to help with this though. Is it possible, and if so how? add content to word or pdf file using php
Hello everybody! I would like to have some code in php, which would add some content (e.g. one line) in a ms word or a pdf file (whichever is easiest) that is already stored in the website. PHP edit form for MySQL database using <Select> fields
Hi, I have a php form that encodes the responses to various <Select> field drop down menus as numbers (e.g. 0 to 50), and then posts the data to a MySQL table. I am trying to implement a form to allow editing of the data already in the table. I can read the data out of the database without trouble, however I am having trouble figuring out a way to have the appropriate option in the <Select> fields chosen to reflect the data already in the database. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this? Use PHP var in PHP generated Javascript?
I know the common way of using a PHP variable in javascript via: <script>myjsvar = <?echo $phpvar;?>;</script> But in my case I'm generating several javascript code blocks (which produce some flash) via a PHP loop, so I need to figure out another way to get the PHP vars into these blocks similar to: foreach ($lines as $line) { print "<script>myjsvar = $phpvar;</script>"; } I've tried various ways to get this working included ".$phpvar." and "+ $phpvar+", etc. None seem to work. php newbie want to use php to do the following things
I wanna use a textarea and a submit to transfer the text area into a file. and then the PHP program using a .exe program open this file, processing the file, and save the output in another file then PHP will open this file and update the html within the text file and send to the customer My question is: if this possible? what if the users input is not valid for the .exe file? how to analyze this in php? what if multiple users click this php file? Thanks a lot, or would you please give me some examples on this. Cheers fAnS. Why send it to a .exe? If you can send the program info via command-line and it has code built-in to output a file then a sufficient php programmer should be able to do it. However, it may be harder if the .exe is a GUI based app. If you wrote the .exe then you would probably be better off just porting it to php and calling it from within the other php file. And if this is a commercial thing then I don't think that this is the right way to go. Also the .exe depends upon the server running Windows which it will probably not. Using PHP to post to a form
Howdy, I have a scenario in which I have two applications that need to share data. Application A needs to post data to a form in App B and, for lack of better phrasing, switch the user over to App B. Some of the data is sensitive, so I'd prefer the user not be able to see it by viewing the source, so a standard <input type="hidden"> is out, as is having javascript add the post value for submitting. I can't use Snoopy or curl (i think), because the final form processor might initiate a session / set cookies that get lost in Snoopy and/or curl. The theoreti...

PHP form field oddness!
Got a weird problem and wondered if the people here had ever seen similar. I have an internal website that is PHP based. One of the form submit has tons of fields, so to simplify the updating/inserting of records (and long term management of the page) I go through the request (HTTP POST/GET) variables and create an sql statement based on the data. This means if I add a new database field I can just add the form field on the page and I do not have to alter the database code. However now and again a random form field will turn up that is not on the original page. The latest is "sageamp". I have had "s_vnum" and "SITESERVER". They look to be related to cookies - eg sageamp seems to be related to web analysis. These form fields are unrelated to the actual PHP code that generates the HTML form - the form fields just appear on the page. If the problem occurs I clear the cache (including cookies) and the problem goes away for a while. This only occurs in Firefox, however if I replicated the browsing that firefox has been up to in IE it may also happen. The code for doing the DB update, if you are interested (nothing to do with the problem I am sure) is: (note - you can see where I have put exceptions in for the phantom form fields to allow the code to work - I have since found out that clearing the cache stops the fields from appearing). while(list($key,$val) = each ($_REQUEST)) { if ($key<> "B1" && $ke...

form validation using php

how to use the PHP path to send something explicitly to the PHP parser?
Hi. I'm messing around with some stuff in an .htaccess file. Among other things, I'd like to send my html files to the PHP parser. I'd also like to rewrite the urls using Apache mod_rewrite, so that the query string disappears, but the variables are still recorded. For all these tasks, I need to know the PHP path. When I run phpinfo, I see this listed as the Path: PATH /bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin I'm not sure how to use that infomation. Do I use all of it? how to mark php document as cachable (expires only when php file changes)
Hi, I'm new to cahce control, so I hope my question makes sense. let's assume a small php file like <html><body> <?php $max=10; for($i=0;$i<$max;$i++){ print("$i<br>\n"); } ?> </body></html> Obviously the output of this file is predictably constant as it would be for any html file. I assume, that apache would allow a foreign browser to detect, that a html file (creation date or expire) does not have to be reloaded except it has been updated on the server. On the other hand I assume, that php will set the expire attributes for php files per default such, that the request will not be cachable, as php is normally being used for dynamic web pages. However my above php file will always create the same output independent of when and how it will be called. So what exact header would I have to pass to indicate to make the browser understand, that the php file does not have to be refetched, except the php file (its creation date) changed. Thanks in advance for any support. If my request is not clear, then I'll reexplain differently. Probably to avoid short tags scripts (on a server that doesn't allow them) from getting leaked by visitors who don't know about this browser trick, until the dev' realizes his error. PHP 5.1.2 and using PHP w Apache2 and MySQL
Hello all, First of all I first dld and installed (unzipped) PHP 5.1.1 before 5.1.2 was released, so do I just unzip 5.1.2 over the existing 5.1.1 and use the same php.ini file, or is there more to it than that? Also, I have installed Apache 2.0.55 and PHP 5.1.2 (see above 5.1.2 question) on my personal windows me computer, and I would like to install MySQL as well. To the best of my knowledge both of the above SEEM to be working and setup correctly. My goal in doing this is so that I can learn to use Apache, PHP and MySQL on my computer. When I am somewhat proficient I still want to continue to develop and test web pages without first having to upload everything to the server, where everything will then be available to the rest of the unsuspecting world. I would like to keep any requests via the internet from being accepted by my system if at all possible. Can I accomplish this or is this just a hopeless dream? Which community ver number of MySQL is best for what I am trying to do? Am I using the proper vers of Apache and PHP? A couple of years ago I did this with all windows progs. I used PWS and Access from ms. I wrote ASP scripts to read and write to the Access database and everything that I wanted to do. However, the ms solution is getting too expensive.
