Out of memory while I still have enough memory
Dear all, My problem is as follows, I want to run an simulation in Femlab. The mesh has around 10,000 elements and 8,000 nodes. My computer has a memory of 1,024 MB and I have set the virtual memory up to 4 GB. When I'm running the simulation the simulation stops with a message that it is "out of Memory". The used memory was at that moment around 0.8 GB, what means that the capacity of the memory was not fully used. Could someone tell me why this is and what actions I have to undertake to solve this problem. regards Harry Dekker Harry Dekker wrote: > > Dear all, > ...

Labview out of memory message: memory full; not enough memory to complete this operation
Hello, I have programmed various algorithms for preprocessing of large data sets, mainly using the linear algebra toolkit. I am having memory problems with labview when I run my program - even when testing with a 'small' data set of 2000 columns and 2000 rows. I get messages like: Labvie out of memory; memory full; not enough memory to complete operation. And these messages come very soon after I import the data - i.e. i do not get much chance to do much processing! I will appreciate help with this. I have tried to streamline my code, but I am sure I am still missin...

Quesion about running a exe file in Python(Not enough memory)
Hey guys, I have a python script that will call an external exe file. Code is kind of like this: import sys import os from helper_functions import strContains if (len(sys.argv) != 4): print('Usage of script: export_mirax_data <pathToSourceMiraxData> <pathToResultData> <tileSize>') else: print('Script to export mirax data') print('---------------------------') # default parameters for exporting zoomLevel = 0 # 0 (original) - 9 (whole slide on one image) tileHeight = 2048 # has to be a multiple of 2...

limiting memory consumption of Python itself or a dict in a Python program
Hello everybody, I'm pondering the following problem: I want to write a Python program that receives messages via SMTP and stores them in a dict or an array. For my purposes it would be important that all received mail would be kept in RAM and not cached out to disk. If a new message comes in that can't fit in the allocated memory, a number of old messages would be discarded. As the server needs to have room for other tasks, I'd like to limit the overall memory consumption to a certain amount. Is this possible? How would I go about implementing it? By imposing "ulimit"...

Valgrind memory-checker reports memory problems in Python
Are the Python developers running Python under Valgrind? If not, FYI, Valgrind is a excellent memory-checker for Linux. Valgrind is reporting a ton of memory problems. Worrisome are "Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s)" errors. Not enough memory?
Hi I hope this is the correct newsgroup to post my question: We bought a Lexmark colour laser C530dn. This printer is sold as an office printer which has a network card installed inside. After printing errors we were told by Lexmark support that any file that is probably more than 8MB will not print properly because it is too large for the printer's internal memory (128MB) because it automatically multiplies the file by 10 (can't remember why), and with the memory already taking up other resources. I find this amazing especially as it is being sold as an office pr...

Not enough memory?
OS: Mac OS 9 and OSX Cinema Version: 8 XL Hardware: Mac G4 1000/MP, GeForce 4 Titanium, 1,5 gigs RAM. When I am rendering medium sized or bigger scenes with radiosity, I often get strange problems. At some time during rendering, the rendering just stops. Thats it. If I try to close the render window, a failure message pops up, telling me there is no enough RAM. That is pretty strange because I have 1,5 gigs of RAM. If others with much weaker machines dont have this problem, it would be strange that I have it. Cinema is also set to use 1,3 gigs of RAM in the program information...

not enough memory
Trying the LV 7.1 examples ?Cont Acq&Graph Voltage-to File (Binary.vi)? and the corresponding read binary data VI: ?Graph Acquired Binary Data.vi? I?ve got the ?not enough memory? problem while reading the binary data file. The binary files are ?only? 90MB big, however, I?m running the examples on a Windows server 2003, double processor Xeon 3GHz PC with 2GB of RAM. I used the read VI to get the wave form and to perform an FFT with the ?FFT Spectrum (Mag-Phase).vi. After some failures to read the whole file (Error: not enough memory) I?ve complemented the ?Graph Acquired Bi...

not enough memory :-(
From time to time, my system seems to eat up all the memory. In this moment, for instance, if I try to open even a simple command window, it fails saying that there is non enough memory available :-( Shmemmon says: Available: 715 256Kb blocks = 178.8 Mb I had theseus already open, just in case, and the output of the linear memory map page is posted at http://tinyurl.com/2w62pj(It is too long to be posted here) I am unable to interpret it. Is anyone able to tell me what is going wrong? Is there any other check that I could do? thanks Piersante The correct link ...

not enough memory
Hi , I use proc model to estimate a hundred equations using=20 proc model data... ..... fit eq1 eq2 ..eq100/GMM And sas log says unable to allocate sufficient memory, need at least = 400mb more. Which is strange, I have 4G physicaly memory on WinXP 32 using sas 9.2. = Surely I have 400mb of free memory. Just as an aside, Proc model = actually prints out a memory usage chart which says it needs 800mb. So = the total memory needed is just 800mb. If I delete half of the equations, the program runs perferctly. I wonder = if there is anyway to fix this. I tried memsize and bu...

Python and Memory
I have to pick a language to commit to for general purpose scientific/statistical/utility/database programming at my office and have pretty much narrowed it down to R or Python. Problem: none of the various Python books I have looked into has had much to say about memory. I will be operating on some big arrays, probably with Numpy; if I run out of space and upgrade a Win 2000 or Win XP pro machine from 256 Meg to 500Meg or even 1G will Python automatically recognize and take advantage of the increase? Where are questionss such as this discussed in the documentation? Thanks for any sugges...

Is my memory is not enough?
Dear members: I am programming in C. I declare as follows but when running program, there is a fatal error appear: double a[255][255]; double b[255][255]; When I change it to double a[255][255]; double b[255][100]; then it works. I think the problem caused by the running out of memory. But I am wondering why I use malloc function, there is no error: ------------------------ double **a; double **b; a=malloc(255*255*sizeof(double)); if(a==NULL) printf("there is an error"); b= malloc(255*255*sizeof(double)); if(a==NULL) printf("there is an error"); -----------------...
