tkimg1.3 --disable-shared option fails to build

I've build tkimg1.3 fine on the linux platform with tcl/tk 8.4.11
without the --disable-shared option.

However, when I try to build the package with the option I receive a
cannot find pkgIndex.tcl error. Has anyone else had the same issue?

Thanks,

patty

building tkimg1.3 with tcl/tk8.5
Hi, I am trying to build tkimg. Do you why I cannot compile some code unless I remove the -WX flag (treat warnings as errors)? I got the open source from "ftp://tcl.activestate.com/pub/tcl/nightly-cvs/". Is this the correct place to get the open source from? Are these compiled with MS 2005, with the patch? If not, then what compiler was used? Thanks, Mona. ...

g77 3.3 build on hppa fails testsuite
Hi, I build a release of GCC 3.3 on HP-UX 11.11, and it appeared to complete satisfactorily. At least it has worked well enough to build several other common open source projects. tcl 8.3.3: concurrent http::geturl fail to save complete image
tcl 8.3.3, http package 2.3, Windows XP I try to save the live image from a Mobotix Webcam via set channel [open $file w] http::geturl http://CAMERA-IP/record/current.jpg \ -timeout 2000 \ -channel $channel \ -command [...] Whenever I start 3 or more simultaneous requests before the first one completes, I get truncated images in the saved files. 1 or 2 simultaneous requests is ok, 3 or more fail reliably. When I use the same code on linux, I do not see this problem. When I use simultaneous 'wget' invocations, I do not see this problem. When I use the same code in 8.4.x, this does not seem to be a problem. So the conclusion is that this a problem of TCL8.3.3/http2.3 on windows. The bug database on sourceforge does not show related bugs for 'geturl', so the question whether anyone has seen this before? Hi Colm, Thanks very much for your email. Please make sure to send all questions related to TAO or ACE to the ACE mailing list or ACE+TAO newsgroup, rather than to me directly since I travel frequently and often don't have ready access to email. > Thanks for the info, unfortunately using the latest beta kit did not > work, I get the same error message when building the orbsrvcs. Hum, that's very weird. I think we build ACE+TAO on RedHat with G++ 3.3 all the time. Please see http://www.dre.vanderbilt.edu/scoreboard/ for more details. It looks to me like there's something wrong with your standary library or C++ compiler installation. > However, I may not need the orbsrvcs; I really just want to be able > to resolve CORBA object references via an IOR URL passed to orb-> > string_to_object, and I believe that the smaller subset of TAO > ($TAO_ROOT/tao, $TAO_ROOT/TAO_IDL) will be enough to provide that, > please let me know if I am incorrect in that assumption. Building gcc 3.3.x on 3.4
Just recently installed OpenBSD, just out of curiosity and learning purposes. I never played with any BSD flavor before so I'll probably have quite a few questions here :). I read gcc build status and found that gcc 3.x was successfully build on OpenBSD 3.0. My first attempt wasn't successful (for obvious reasons :) and I got masses of linking errors. So what's the trick here ? I didn't found a lot of info on the net either. Most of the hits I got were the arguments about future inclusion of gcc 3.x into OpenBSD distribution. Building customized TCL command, with options
I try to build a a customized TCL command looking like this: my_cmd -opt1 -opt2 with separate functionalities binded to each option, and I want to do it using TCL only, without C-code additions. I tried to use the "namespace": namespace eval my_cmd { proc hello { puts hello } proc bye { puts bye } namespace ensemble create -map { {-opt1} hello {-opt2} bye } } Desired behavior: Invoking: my_cmd opt1 opt2 and the result is printed to the stdout: hello bye But this does not work, because the "namespace" does not append each option to "my_cmd" separately, but concatenates them together. Could someone help me? > Desired behavior: > Invoking: my_cmd opt1 opt2 > and the result is printed to the stdout: > hello bye > But this does not work, because the "namespace" does not append each > option to "my_cmd" separately, but concatenates them together. > > Could someone help me? Hi dannyn, [namespace ensemble] really isn't designed to do this, but I'm a little confused about what you really want to have happen. If you really want each option to cause a different piece of code to run, you could do something like this: proc my_cmd {args} { foreach arg $args { switch -- $arg { -opt1 { opt1Proc } -opt2 { opt2Proc } } } } But if what you really want is the output you describe above, your code will be more like this: proc ...

building GCC 3.3.2 or 3.2.3 on Unixware 7.1.1

Exceptions across shared libraries (gcc 3.3.3)
Hi, I am facing a weird issue: We are using a shared library (libcarob) that can throw exceptions. Everything goes well under most platforms, but under suse (SLES 9, gcc 3.3.3), we get a segfault anytime we try to throw an exception out of carob. The weird thing is that when linking statically carob to the libstdc++, the problem disappears. Google showed nothing convincing, so I try other channels...
