packages
Hi, I wrote a package to be included with my main program, my directory looks like: generic_list.ads // package def generic_list.adb // package body AdaGenericLinkedList.adb // my main program Now I need all three to be present in the same directory to compile the main adb file with gnat make. I see some websites suggesting Ada's compilation method is different than C++'s, as in you don't need all the package parts to be present in order to compile successfully, but that doesn't seem to be the case here (if I remove generic_list.ads / adb compilation fails)....

Advice on converting hashed packages to pseudo-hashed packages
Does a document exist with the outline below? If so please point me to it... If not, any help would be appreciated: "So, you wrote some object-oriented perl packages and you used hashes for all your objects because your boss wanted results and you stopped reading at page 125 of Conway. Now you found that your code runs horribly slowly and you should have used pseudo-hashes and the 'fields' pragma, but it looks like there's a lot to learn, and you're nervous about trying to convert this code. Here's what to do, and the things you need to watch out for:" Thanks in...

Lost caption mixing float package and rotating package
I am trying to use the rotating package because I find I need a sideways figure, but I am using it in a document that already uses the float package to restyle floats, and I find it is complaining about > ! Undefined control sequence. > \@tempf ... \@parboxrestore \normalsize \@fs@capt > {\@nameuse {fnum@#1}}{\ign... > l.16 ... a caption in a sidewaysfloat environment} I have traced this to my restyling of the figure layout to put the caption above the image, as in the minimal example is below. The demoimg.png file is ...

How to let the methods of a class only can be invoked by a special package(the class not in the package)?
There is a class A in package XX.ZZ.GG , and A has a static methodA.GetInstance(). There are 3 classes B, C, D in package XX.ZZ .How can I make the A.GetInstance() only can be invoked by the B, C andD. cohesive packages
Following on from the network design post. If we have a package/tier that represents the domain, and that tier has responsibilities of modeling domain behaviour and holding state. 1/ OO is upheld in that the objects keep state and model behaviour that operates on that state 2/ There are two responsibilities so cohesiveness is lost How do you / Should you apply the rules of cohesiveness used for classes to packages also, in the same way - how does it differ? If State becomes more than a necessity, required in order to implement the behaviour and becomes a means of transfer (eg across a netw...

Chicago package
Hi all, I have some questions about the chicago bib-package: 1) When I use it, all the entries in the bibliography are intended about half a centimeter. How do I get rid of that? A minimal example: \documentclass{report} \usepackage[english]{babel} \usepackage{chicago} \bibliographystyle{chicago} \begin{document} \nocite{*} \bibliography{bib} \end{document} where a typical entry in the file bib.bib looks like this: @Article{Austin1950, author = {J. I should insert a package in my design for fixed point operation which is the correct operation to do this? bye marco On Thu, 22 Jul 2004 15:38:36 GMT, "Marco Bongiovanni" <marcobongiovanni@aliceposta.it> wrote: >I should insert a package in my design for fixed point operation >which is the correct operation to do this? You don't "insert" a package; you compile it into a library, then make the library and package visible using context clauses. Do you have a suitable fixed-point package already? If so, tell us which one you want to use, and we may be ...

Package names.
I need to install some packages. packages #2
what is a common practice for usage of packages -- that is, how many packages to use in application? there are two corner cases -- 1) use just one package for all applications 2) use separate package for each module (for example, file) in C++ the later approach -- use as many namespaces as you want -- is frequently used, for example, in boost libraries. but in CL each package requires some attention (manually figure out use and exports), so i'm afraid that would be waste of time.. Package management
As far as I can see, 5.10 does not provide any new package management tools besides pkgadd/pkgrm. This is an area where Solaris could really be improved, and has been left behind by the likes of apt/portage. blastwave.org/pkg-get is ok, but I what if I want to update bundled packages like SUNWapch*? I may, for example, want to use the bundled packages for apache instead of csw, which installs everything under /opt, and is such not compatible with the containers model which prefers configuration state in /etc and data in /var (like the rest of the *nix world). The only way to get hold of fr...

I'm not a TeX expert. But, I've recently started to use LaTex and need some help using the Coverpage package. Basically I can't figure out how to set the logo using the \CoverPageFooterLogo.. I can't get it to find my png file and the coverpage just has the name of the png file on it. If anyone can provide an example of how to use this, it would be most appreciated as I'm a novice at this. Thanks. -brad w. bwalker@musings.com wrote: > I'm not a TeX expert. Packages in Scheme
Hi there! I'm new to Scheme and I'm having a little trouble in searching for and installing packages. I need a "sublist" function and I found one here: http://sicp.ai.mit.edu/Fall-2003/manuals/scheme-7.5.5/doc/scheme_8.html#SEC77 But I can't use it in my IDE (Dr. Scheme). Actually, none of the "procedure+" can be used. So, my questions: - What are these procedure+ ? - How can I add packages? Ftp packages
Hello, I would like to automate some ftp file uploads that we do weekly here. In going through the messages for an easy fix, I see recommendations to use Tcllib's ftp, TclCurl and many others. I would like to stay with Tcllib solution so would I miss anything if I went ahead with Tcllib's ftp package instead of one of the others? Thanks in advance! time packages
I've been spending some quality time with encode-universal-time, decode-universal-time, and the joy of time zones. I need to store time ranges for multiple time zones in a database, update and retrieve them, and perform some comparisons relative to the current time and future times. Postgres handles the storage fine, but juggling time zones in Lisp is becoming more trouble than it's worth. I'm just about to rewrite this module to always use UTC and only change the values for display, but before I do I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a good tim...

logging package
Hello, I can;t find this information in the docs so I'm hoping someone here may know. Is the logging package thread-safe? As a confirmation of what I mean by 'thread-safe', this means that if I have two threads running, both of which call (for example) objLogger.debug - does the logging package synchronize around the event notification (as in practice the root logger is a singleton)?
