Hello
I have to start a new (small) project. Actually I used more and more GTWVW for the Windows like.
I like this library, because it is simple to use with my editor.
But, I don't heard much about the future of this library. Does it mean, that GTWVW is on a dead line?
I also see that HMG started a new project based on QT. I make some test, widows look really good.
or do I have to use a another library like GTWVT or other!
Many thanks in advance for you ideas.
Regards
Otto

Hello Luiz,
I like GTWVW because it looks nice and it is pretty simple but I thing
it deserves a complete revision to be updated according to (x)Harbour
standards and quality.
Is there any plan to make it even better?

hi,

didnt you use Xbase++ ?
try GTWVG from Bedi Pritpal and use #xtranslate WVG* XBP*
so you can use your Source Code "Dual" for Xbase++ and Harbour

OK, nice to know. I find the documentation from gtwvw very good. Raison from this choice.
I asked about gtwvw because, I didn't see any change since 2007!
Information found in whatsnew!

I didn't tested this library until today, because I couldn't found a compiled lib for BCC.
Also the documentation is very poor. Just downloaded the version 2.17.
Also hwgui didn't have had any change since January 2008!

Hi, Otto

A gtwvw was updated at end of 2010 year.

Hwgui still live, but a documentation is dead
Look at hwgui.cvs.sourceforge.net.

Sorry
hwgui is very active, you cant use the version from the sf.net page
you need to use hwgui from cvs/svn repository

Nice to know. Where may find the last lib?
Because in the source I don't see any information about 2010!
https://xharbour.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/xharbour/trunk/xharbour/contrib/gtwvw/gtwvw.c
I also tried to compile this source. But without success.

I don't use library's without documentation.

Hello Luiz,
I never get any success with the compilation of this library!
I'm using the last free.xharbourg version form november 2010.
I tried to compile my version from:
cd contrib\gtwvw
make_B32
But nothing append!
Other question, where do I find this last update?
In all my gtwvw.c header I found only this:
/*
* $Id: gtwvw.c,v 1.48 2008/11/19 05:24:51 andijahja Exp $
*/

Luiz said
"gtwvw is compiled with follow command on xharbour root dir
make_b32 contrib or make_b32 all "
.... which means you should have ...
CD \xharbour
make_b32 contrib

I'm tried to learn how to download with the help of SVN (Turtoise) the xHarbour sources.
I think I got it.. I have now all files in my new E:\xHarbour directory.
gtwvw.c is now dated from: /* $Id: gtwvw.c 9279 2011-02-14 18:06:32Z druzus $ */
I also install bcc55 in E:\xHarbour\Bcc55
I also adjust the both Bcc32.cfg and Ilink32.cfg files in E:\xHarbour\Bcc55\bin.
Ex. for Bcc32.cfg
-I"E:\xHarbour\BCC55\include"
-L"E:\xHarbour\BCC55\lib;E:\xHarbour\BCC55\lib\psdk"
-lj"E:\xHarbour\BCC55\lib;E:\xHarbour\BCC55\lib\psdk"
Now when I start make_b32 contrib, I get only a empty Bloc-Notes page!
I think I'm missing a path or something else.
I'm sorry about my questions. But until yet, I always used compiled library's!
I also don't know much about C.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Otto
