My very nice 1703 suddenly has no power getting to it. The green light on
the power supply is on, but no lights, no nothing on the laptop.

Seems like something inside the box has fried itself?

Anyone else heard of any similar problems?

Is this just a case of new electronic components being likely to fail
in the first 200 hours of use, perhaps?
