Dell Latitude Cooling Fan

  • Follow

Just bought a Latitude used and was wondering is the cooling fan suppose to
run all the time or just when the temp reaches an upper point?

This is my first laptop, so not sure of just how they are set up.

Thanks to everyone,

Ron

The fan has several settings along with the CPU speed according to temp.

We have seen cases of fans failing after a few hours of operation.
If your machine is overheating then you might need to replace the fan.
Try playing a DVD - usually a good test for overheating systems.
