Fan not working under Windows 98
Is there a setting somewhere in Windows that might affect
the working of my laptop fan? It works at the start of the
startup cycle but cuts out when Windows loads. The computer
is a Eurocom, built in Ottawa, Canada from Chinese and
Japanese parts, undoubtedly.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks. Bob

Probably just not getting hot enough to activate it.
Try making the comp work hard such as playing an intensive game or playing a
DVD or something.
Some laptops do spin at a very reduced rate that sounds like they aren't
working but in fact are circulating enough air to keep it "under the limit"
so to speak.
Light a candle & see if you can hold it near the outlet & see if there is in
fact any movement of air?
At startup the fan does go full speed until it receives a reading from the
probe.
