HP laptop, LCD screen issue.

A friend has an HP 1235 laptop with a 14" screen. When it is only opened
partially, the screen works but when it's lifted past about 1/3rd of the way,
the screen scrambles.

I'm not sure I agree, but he thinks the cable is bad. Samsung, the
manufacturer, want's $100 for a new cable, somewhat out of the price range he's
will to pay to fix this thing. Does anyone know if all Samsung 14" screens use
the same cable or are they proprietary for each make and model? He wants to buy
a parts machine off ebay to get a replacement cable.
TIA,
jc

open his lid/screen up and look for the LCD panel number then do an ebay
search for same. Sometimes LCD's are sold with the inverter and
cable..............that's how I purchased mine.
