Screen Flickers on Edge , with Black background. Why?

Hi , everyone!

I have the following problem with my laptop.
I have an ECS A535 laptop.
The problem is with the display as follows: When i open a web page
with black background the screen begins to flicker. The most ugly
thing of all is that there appears on the edges (usually where the
scrollbar is) a little black and white lines (1-2 cm). The same thing
happens when i try watching a movie on my WMP. Where the subtitles
show appear the same scratchy lines.

As i have observed the problem show when there is something black near
the edges of the screen or when there are close images of white and
black pictures (for example as the white subtitles show on the black
background watching movie). The rest of the time everything is
perfect. I had a suspicion that the problem could show because of
directX or anything like that because it first show while playing a
game in full screen mode. I know that i didn't have that problem from
the very beginning ... i bought the laptop 10 months ago. It still has
a warranty but i don't have enough time to go to the service and i
also just can't breathe without the computer for more than a few
hours.

Can you help me ? Please. I searched the groups but didn't come across
anything like my problem. Most of the time the computer is connected
to the power supply. I seldom use the batteries. The problem still
shows when using batteries.

thank you again.

Try doing cornerRun(?block nil) - I've not tried this to make sure that it works, but it does with run(), so I would expect it to. Regards, Andrew. On Tue, 14 Dec 2004 11:42:25 +0100, "S. I find white too bright, plus it uses up more electricity, as a background color. Is there any way of setting a different background default color in OS X? A medium gray might be pleasant on the eyes. The New Guy wrote: > I find white too bright, plus it uses up more electricity, as a > background color. There's also Insanity's ShapeShifter. Incidentally, I thought you had LCD monitors? Power consumption color differences only matters significantly with a CRT. Any given app can do whatever it likes within its own windows. Keith Wood wrote: > Insanity's ShapeShifter. Oops, I meant

The TeX compiler also writes a file with the name of the .tex file but with extension .log. Also here you can find the error messages. Probably you have the following error

Metallic background in a process job
Does anyone know how to print a metallic background to a poster with product pictures on that are process, however the difficult part is there needs to be a reflection on the metallic background which reflects the colours of the process product shots, and it isn't a solid background colour, it has a glow behind the products. We could do it by adding a layer in the channels pallet of photoshop, however will this make the shadow/reflection of the product difficult to print? JavaScript stops background music
Hi, I am using Visual Basic 6 to generate web pages that can be used by the members of our seniors' computer club to create e-cards that include their own pictures. I wish to include background music. The music plays okay until the viewer clicks to cause some JavaScript code to execute. When the JavaScript code runs it stops the music even though the coding is just used to resize pictures and divs on the page (viz, it is not supposed to do anything with the music). Can someone suggest a way to have the music play even after the JavaScipt coding is executed? Also, I am using midi music files which, of course, are not as pleasing as regular mp3 or other files. However, I wish to keep the downloading as easy as possible. Are there any better ideas? What kind of music files should or can I use? Is there a best way to include music in a web page? Thank you. Color regions of plot background
Is there a ways to set the color of the plot background over particular intervals say i want the background on [0,1] red and [1,2] blue is this possible? Thanks, Dave In article <fvf137$njj$1@fred.mathworks.com>, David Doria <daviddoria@gmail.com> wrote: >Is there a ways to set the color of the plot background over >particular intervals >say i want the background on [0,1] red and [1,2] blue >is this possible? No. There is only one plot background color. What you can do, though, is create patch() objects in the areas you want, and set the patch FaceColor to the color you want, and set the patch EdgeColor to 'none'. You might have to play with the patch alpha transparency parameters or the z coordinate of the patch to get the plot lines to appear "above" the background colors. -- "Ignorance has been our king... he sits unchallenged on the throne of Man.
