Does anyone know why my sony vaio z1va laptop is not detecting my
d-link 2.4 ghz wireless router. My desktop with a wireless usb adapter
detects the router just fine.I have already downloaded the patch off
the sony webpage addressing the issues with the intel pro/wireless lan
2100 3b miniadapter but it has not resolved the problem. Any advice
would be welcome.

What does device manager say about the adapter?  Is it installed
correctly, working correctly?  From the router DHCP client table, is the
adapter recognized there?  How is the wireless set up at the router?  If
WEP or WPA is enabled, or MAC filtering, etc., disable all of these and
see if the adapter can connect.  What is the current IP address of the
adapter connection?  And, lastly, is the adapter turned on?
