Spam reporting tool for latest Thunderbird?

  • Follow

I'm looking for an extension for thunderbird-3.0-2.6.b3 for reporting
incoming spam to SpamCop. Neither Habu nor KnujOn are any longer being
developed, and neither works with this version.

Would someone who actually understands how Thunderbird extensions are
built like to start a new extension that is actually supported?

Initially had a problem of "Spamcopper will not be installed because it
does not provide secure updates", and once I resolved that via the info
on http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=3074339 it turned out
that "SpamCopper 0.3 could not be installed because it is not compatible
with Thunderbird 3.0b3."

So, no, unfortunately it didn't work.

And did you contact the author with your suggestions? I'm guessing "no,
unfortunately."

Would seem tbird 3.0-2.6.b3 (?) is bleeding edge - good luck with any
extensions being available real soon beyond the most popular, if those.
Isn't that a beta /nightly version?

thunderbird-3.0-2.6.b3.fc11.x86_64.rpm came right off Fedora 11 updates,
so it got automatically installed.

Frankly, I'm a bit surprised that Fedora includes beta stuff in updates?
I'm beginning to think I'll just downgrade it...

I dunno, Microsoft have been getting away with it for years.

You are using Linux (based on headers of your post) =>
Why do you want "Thunderbird only" solution?

On my "personal Linux" I use "local IMAP server" to be able to use a few
mail readers in parallel. I use custom scripts to reports spam moved to
special IMAP folder.
