Using PM in 2 locations

Hi Group, My pseudonym and e-mail address are invalid. I will give my
details at the end of this question.

I have been using Pegasus Mail since the DOS days. I now have two
computers, a laptop on which I write this, and my desktop that acts more
like a backup repository. When I get my new machine with Vista Ultimate,
I will have 3 on which I need to be able to access all the mail on each
machine. I have no idea how to achieve this. When I am working on my
Vista Business laptop, there are occasions I need information from my
desktop's installation of WinPMail. I have no idea of how to retrieve
the information that is on that machine.

When I have the new machine, I will need to access the information
already on my Business laptop as well as on my desktop.

How do I configure WinPMail to retrieve the folders on the desktop? I
will obviously use the same principle when I need to access folders on
this Business laptop from my Vista Ultimate laptop.

I do not want to have to create another user or change users, or get up
from one machine and go to another just to find something I am looking
for. Is this possible?

PGP Extension for Pegasus Mail 6.2.7.0 [required for Pegasus Mail 4.5] released
Version 6.2.7.0 / 6-2009 (13.06.2009): ATTENTION: This update is required for the extension to work properly = with Pegasus Mail v4.5! The most important change is a new send option ("all in one message") = which may be selected via the entries beginning with "***" in the encryption dialog. Some minor adjustments to PGP 9.7 - 9.10, a new option for displaying the local time on Pegasus Mail's status bar and a way for synchronizing the system time with a timeserver are included as well. Additionally the following bugs have been fixed amongst others: - E...

Using Pegasus Mail from multiple computers; archiving mail folders
I currently use Pegasus Mail for Windows (XP Professional) from my laptop. I put the mail in a root directory c:\Mail. I am thinking of adding a desktop computer and using my existing laptop much less frequently; I would copy over c:\Mail to a drive on the desktop that could be shared, say d:\Mail, and have a few questions: * I know I'd have to edit pmail.ini to point to d:\Mail . * When I am local and able to access d:\Mail, there should be no problem as long as I have only one client open at a time, I believe. But say that I am remote, perhaps on a trip, and want to use Pegas...

Mail 2.1, two PBG4s, synchronizing mail and mail problems
Here's the sitch: PBG4 w/broken screen, running an external (duh) Samsung monitor. This is my shop PB, it's currently masquerading as an immobile desktop. PBG4 all fixy-fix. Setting up Pegasus Mail for Windows for intranet use only #2
Hello, I continue to have difficulties in setting up Pegasus Mail for use on a Microsoft Windows based network. I initially set up the software on a machine running Windows 98SE. The version I'm installing is 4.41a. It was my understanding that I can share the drive where Pegasus Mail (E:\PMAIL) is installed and simply have other workstations run this copy of the software without installing a separate version on any of the workstations. I do not want to have any Internet e-mail addresses (i.e. mike@mgi.com), but simply users like mike, jo, frank, chris, etc. I could not ...

I use Pegasus Mail to filter E-mail and block spam for FREE, all spam.pnp updates posted here!
I was using Pegasus Mail in the 90's and recently decided to look at it again. The author's web site is http://www.pmail.com and he has continued its development into something incredibly useful. Most amazing of all is that he keeps it free by only selling the documentation.. Anyway, in addition to its neat automatic spam content filter, you can create and utilize custom filters which will in fact filter everything and do so on the server side, if you tell it to. I figured it all out in one night using the HELP INDEX included with Pegasus Mail. The filter file I...

Mail and imported mail in mail app
I imported my email from an iMac g5 to a MacBook Pro running Leopard. I now have an inbox, sent box, Trash, and underneath that a set of folders I'd created in Mail on the iMac for various mail stuff. Under that is a gmail heading (all my mail comes to Mail app from Gmail), and under that another inbox, sent box. Is there a way to meld these two inboxes? Last time I looked, a new mail coming in showed up in both places, requiring me to select each in turn. Pegasus Mail freezes when sending mail
Hello, We have Pegasus Mail version 4.41 set up on a Windows Network. The programs are run in workstation mode so that they are running the executables off the network. We are using a roaming profile. We have one particular computer that intermittently freezes up when sending mail. This workstation is a Windows XP Professional SP2 machine. Editing mail in mail.app #2
Somebody suggested dragging the mail to draft and editing it then dragging it back. I want to report that this works. Somebody else asked why I would want to do that. I use mail for reminders and ToDo lists. I frequently get a long mail where I really only need to save and look at a few lines, which may be buried deeply within the mail. By removing all the stuff I don't need I am left with something I can review at a glance. BTW, re-directing mail to yourself also works, but dragging and editing works better. -- Robert B. Check Mail returns no mail when in fact there is mail
On my laptop which connects to an SBC DSL internet connection via a wireless network in our home, both Eudora 6.2 and 7.0 (I downloaded 7.0 in hopes it would fix this problem) checks for mail, retrieves none and tells me I have no new mail. In fact, there is mail which I can retrieve through a browser on the laptop or on our desktop computer. I have all account settings set identical to the Eudora program on our desktop computer (which connects directly to the DSL without utilizing the wireless connection). I can send mail from the laptop just fine using Eudora. I get no error message when attempting to check for mail, just the dialogue box telling me I have no new mail. The small circle that appears in the lower right corner of the status bar turns as it normally does when the program checks for mail, then in about 2 seconds the dialogue box appears to say I have no new mail. Any suggestions for fixing this problem? Thanks, Dave. [Eudora and Mail] Importing e-mail into Mail ?
Hi, After many years using Eudora, I think it is time to switch. Eudora is corrupting its mailboxes, old messages tend to mix up and become unreadable. This is unfortunate as otherwise Eudora does the right things for me. So the questions are : - which e-mail app do you recommend (on a PowerBook G4/667, 10.4.10) ? - I am currently trying Mail; succeeded in importing the Eudora mailboxes except the Inbox (1GB) -> how do I import it ??? CAB Try Eudora Mailbox Cleaner. Worked perfectly for me. Jenny On Oct 16, 11:40 pm, cab <v...@nospam.com> wrote: > Hi, > After many years us...

unix mail vs pc mail #2
Hi All, re: resolved Thanks Gregg, David, and Michael for the tidbits. Here are my findings. The behavior remained the same whether or not the attach parm was in the FILENAME statement, FILE statement, or in the BODY. Also, David's thoughts about config file settings got me to remembering that Window defaults to SMTP and Unix does not, then after checking that neither o/s had any config entries on my platforms, a couple quick sas support site checks yielded a quick thing to try out of Sharon Clanton and Darlene Davis's SUGI29 paper. Voila, their quick solution worked great adding...

Archiving mail messages outside Pegasus Mail?
I have a message folder in Pmail 4.31 with around 500 mail messages including file attachmentsrelated to a work project that has finished some weeks ago. What would be the best way to archive the messages in the folder? Schould I leave the folder in the folder tree and hope that the Pmail message hierarchy system will not be corrupted, or is there a way to put all the messages, with attachments included, out from Pmail and store them to a CD-ROM, and they can then be restored, if needed, for some reason later?
