### HELP: setting up mailing list woes ... :S

• Email
• Follow

In my company we have to send out a company email to our
customers/clients - like a mailing list.

However our company uses BT broadband. When we try to send out a mass
emails then BT blocks them.

We have to use Vallen Emailer
(http://www.vallen.de/freeware/#Vallen%20e-Mailer ) and it sends out
one email at a time to a list of recipients.

Is this the most efficient way? How do other companies setup their own
professional mailing list... retaining our own domain name in our email

I then heard about majordomo ( http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/ ).
But am not sure about it. Will it be better than Vallen Emailer?

Take a look at Sympa : http://www.sympa.org

OBS : It's a real list manager, not a bulk mail sender.

Bo's C-One Mailing List
I've posted a personal blog entry about the C-One and the mailing list and why this community needs to take a hard look at itself and decide what's important and why some sacred cows need to be dealt with. Go read it at <http://blog.paytonbyrd.com/?p=11>. Hi Payton, > I've posted a personal blog entry about the C-One and the mailing list Why not just post it here on c.s.c where no one is going to "moderate" it and let the battle begin. I'm sure a number of people would love to comment. MikeC Hi, As a c-1 owner I find too, the moderation of that list...

Help sought: setting line spacing for lists and quotes in the memoir class
Dear All, I am a newbie with TeX, but have managed to put together a document that is starting to resemble a thesis. My university requires me to use at least 1.5 spacing. The problem is that when I use the \begin{Spacing}{1.5} command in my main file, this also changes the spacing for block quotes and lists throughout the document. But those environments look very bad with 1.5 spacing. So I would like to retain single spacing for those environments. I would be most grateful if someone could help me by telling me how I might solve this problem. Many thanks in advance! TeXn00b My main fil...

XP's File and Settings Transfer Wizard DAT file HELP
I used the Settings and File wizard to copy all my files and settings. It created three files one that was 1k and one 1.2 GB and another 1.9GB. The two large ones are data files. Then I uploaded them to xdrive online. Formatted my computer then downloaded them to my HDD. The icon representation was that of a media file before I uploaded them now that I downloaded them the icon representation is when a file is unrecognized by windows. I use the online recognizing check up and it says they are coral data files. (go figure?) But now when I run the wizard it does not recognize the files. It gives...

Help with lists.
Greetings, I have just started learning prolog. I come from a C/C++/Java background and I am having a very hard time getting my head around this style of programming. Can some one please offer me some assistance in creating the following relationships: 1) A relation flatten( X, Y ) that holds when Y is a list structure that contains the same elements as X, in the same order, but with no nested lists beyond the first level. In other words, Y may contain either atomic elements or other lists, but these may not contain any nested lists. Eg: |?- flatten1( [a, b, [c,d], [[e]]], Y). Y = [ a, b,...

help sending mail to Mail app via command line
Greetings, I need help sending mail to the Mail.app via the command line. I have a few cron jobs that I would like to output to Mail. I wrote a little perl program that appends to the mbox files, but it has some issues. Mail app doesn't know when the mail comes in and it doesn't mark it as unread. Also there is some compaction problems. I have a stand alone MAC running OSX and I do not have sendmail enabled for security reasons. Thanks in advance for your help. Joe. ...

mailing list
I'm using LaTeX to produce a newsletter and that effort is going well. Now I would like to put the mailing addresses into TeX. I want to put the subscription info into a file and then include that file into different tex files for processing. One tex file would sort by postal code and format the results for address labels, another tex file would sort by last name and format for people to review, another by expiration date for the subscription manager to ping on folk to renew. The closest thing that I've stumbled onto is BibTeX, but I think it will be painful. Is there a package tha...

Help with sets
Hello all, So, I started learning python just recently. I got inspired by a project that related to the semantic web. I can see why this would be a language chosen for the applications that help to build the semantic web. It is interesting to see that indeed python does have structures that make it well suited for this kind of application, or I seem to be able to see how certain structures in python do stand out as unique and related to concepts I am reading about in relation to the Semantic web. I did get a bit confused in reading about the concept of sets in python and...
