Mails from my mailer are sent to bulk/spam mail folder

Hi,
If we use our mailer to send any mails to any of the public mailing
addresses(yahoo/hotmail/rediffmail), this is automatically delivered
to the bulk mail folder ! Hence at times useful mail is discarded.
Please help us sort out this !
TIA

I would guess that you are sending mail from an ip address or range that
has been flagged as a spammer haven.

This has nothing to do with sendmail, and no one here can do anything to
sort it out.

To try to sort this out yourself you can try some things...

-1- get a new address from a provider that can provide addresses that are
not on spam lists.

-2- come to an arrangement with the receiving networks to be white listed.
(However, I doubt you can come to that sort of an arrangment with anyone
as large as hotmail/etc.)

-3- find out why your provider is on a spammer list, and presure your
provider to change what they do so they get off the list.

-4- find which list you are on and ask the provider of the list to remove
your address (I doubt they will, but it is something you can try).

-5- forward your mail through mail accounts from a different provider.

Synchronize local sent-mail with IMAP folder sent-mail
Hi Guys I have almost set pine the way I would like to, the only thing I can't figure out is how to configure pine to make sure my local sent-mail and IMAP folder sent-mail have the same contents. mails sent by sendmail were treated as junk mail
Hi there, I am a newbie of sendmail and trying to configure it to work as my main mailserver which allow POP3 and SMTP connection from outside. My problem is that I cannot send out any mails which appears like sender: xxx@mydomain.com. If I send mail through terminal, my sent-out mail would looks like aaa@hostname.mydomain.com instead of aaa@mydomain.com. hostnam.mydomain.com is a qualified name of my linux box runing sendmail. Second, I configured a openwebmail on this linux box to allow users login from anywhere to manager their mails, and it works fine. However, all the out-going mails sent throug openwebmail are treated as junk mail by most mail server like hotmail and yahoo. It was complained as unknown sender(at this case, sender appears aaa@mydomain.com) Does anyone have any experience in such situation or have any ideas how to configure sendmail to solve my problems? My network setting is simply as router -> DMZ zone -> linux box which is runing sendmail. I have a domain, mydomain.com, which is parking at a domain hosting company where my zone file is actually located. I changed the MX record in the zone file so that it points to my static ip address(eg. 10.11.12.113). After some simple changes were done, I can receive any emails sent to my domain, like xxx@mydomain.com. Thanks for any ideas! [Eudora and Mail] Importing e-mail into Mail ?
Hi, After many years using Eudora, I think it is time to switch. Eudora is corrupting its mailboxes, old messages tend to mix up and become unreadable. ISP criteria for blocking mail as SPAM
Hello, I work for the Department Of The Treasury and believe it or not we actually host significantly large E-Commerce applications for public and business usage. We currently use a listserver package that I will leave unnamed and we send out periodic mass mailings with it from time-to-time. It has been a successful process in sharing information with our customers. Recently, we needed to send out an urgent notice to our customer's related to one of our applications. We sent out 218,00 messages via a batch process and we chose not to use our listserver because this application did not have it's customer addresses populated in any of the lists. Everything was flowing properly through our mail gateway for a few hours and we went home. The next morning when we arrived on-site, we checked the mailing and discovered the outbound mail had slowed down to a near crawl through our Sendmail mail firewall/gateway. After some investigation we discovered that there were many - Deferred - Connection refused errors and a majority of the mail in the queue was backed up to almost 100,000 messages. Mail was barely going out and the queue was only getting worse. We discovered that a large part of these messages were being blocked by major ISP's (Yahoo, Cox.net, AOL). The messages were retrying for 2 - 5 minutes and then tagging the messages as deferred before trying to send the next message in the queue. We believe that this was the source of our major mail bottlen...

Just enter your domain in the mailertable, but on the receiving side there must be a mta, too, of course. So both servers should be running, e.g. sendmail. the pop server has to allow relaying of the smtp server, too. Keep your receiving server in brackets in the mailertable entry to prevent dns lookups, like so yourdomain.com smtp:[internalserver.internaldomain.com] Tim Tim Aden <corrodan@netcologne.de> wrote in message news:<c08rl4$3ft$1@newsreader2.netcologne.de>... > ike lozada schrieb: > > > Hi all, > > > > Currently we have 2 machines for mail (a smtp server and a pop server) > > Currently, sendmail accepts and sends out mail for our domain. Passing some mail to a mail hub

Here is the problem: If I add the 4 domains to the mailertable any mail posted on the first server will be passed to the 2nd mail server (just as I want), but if the server receives mail from a host not accessed to relay the mail bounces. When I add the 4 domains to the local-host-names file then the server tries to deliver them locally and inores the mailertable. Vacation mail with mail.app
Here is a script I wrote for vacation notices; it will send the notice only once to each person you receive mail from. I suggest running it after any rules to file mailing list items into folders, so that it doesn't send vacation mail notices to the lists. The actual notice is sent by the rule; the script is what keeps the rule from sending more than one notice to any given address. First set up an address-book group named "Vacation" Then set up a rule with the criterion "If sender is not a member of group Vacation" Set up the actions Reply to Message Run Applescript (choose the following script to be run) Note 1: I have not fully tested this script, but I believe that it will work properly. Note 2: The script assumes that if the sender's name has three words, they are first, middle, and last; that there is no prefix (such as "Dr.") or suffix (such as "Jr."). It also assumes that if the sender's name has more than three words, the first and second words are the first and middle names, and the last word is the last name. tell application "Mail" perform mail action with messages messages_to_process for rule "vacation" repeat with message_to_process in messages_to_process set the_sender to the sender of the message_to_process my add_to_list(my parse_the_sender(the_sender)) end repeat end tell to add_to_list({FN, MN, LN, email_sender}) tell application "Add...
