Clavinova disc

  • Follow

  Hi all
Perhaps this is not the right group for my question so apologies.
I have a Yamaha Clavinova floppy disc ( Disk Orchestra Collection) which my
Yamaha PSR keyboard will read and play ok.
I want to get access to the files on the floppy disc but it won't open in
my computer.
Has anyone here tried this and can offer any suggestions?
  Thanks
   Gary.

Most of the PSR keyboards have option to record midi, does yours?

Record the midis, and then play them on the keyboard, and record into your
computer as they play.

You probably also have a bank dump or some other dump command for the keyboard.
With this you might be able to dump those patchs, or instruments out to
computer. You might need to get a voice librarian program that will accept the
bank dump.

There are a few freee ons around and a few for sale that you can find with
internet search.

They are a difficult program to set up and get to work, unless your lucky and
your keyboard is one of the listed keyboards.

I also have not been able to access my yamaha Electone discs on my PSR keyboard
or my computer. I don't think they are in the midi format. You will need some
kind of software if you want to open it on your computer such as calkwalk.
