How to remove a serial interface Hello I'm trying to remove a serial interface in a cisco 3640 but I
dont know how.
I tryed just removing it but my adsl configuration stopped working.
A no interface is not working.
Thank you all.
if the interface is physically installed it will appear in your Cfg.
If this is the case, goto config mode and enter the "interface serial 0/0"
and the "shutdown".
If you have a Cfg, were a serial interface appears that you have just
removed from the router.
Then it will be there untill you reload the router.
At boot time if will remove the Cfg entries from running ...
My New Midi Interface Hello,
For a long time ago I have wanted to start making music using samples
of real sounds. I finally bought myself a MIDI interface for my
computer. However, one thing is concerning me about this.
The first thing I tested with my MIDI keyboard interface is a VSTi
synthesizer that comes with REAPER. It is mentioned in the REAPER
help file about how to work with MIDI. I think it is called
ReaSynth. My concern is that it would make the sound only about a
half a second after pushing the key on the piano. To me this is quite
a bit of latency. I was expecting it to be immediat...
Serial interface problem Hi all,
I'm using CP2102 as my USB chip and virtual comport on PC. When I set my baudrate to 9600 or 115200, there is no problem. However, it doesn't work for 921600. Is there an up limit? Meantime, I can receive everything correctly on Hyperterminal, which means there is no error on my board.
Thx for any comments.

Midi Interface 354446 Hello,
Someone knows a midi interface for serial ports ?
(N O T an USB interface) !
with best regards
possibly does not exist
i thinking..... serial is too slow compared to joystick's port parrarel
what u can try to do is, find a Parrarel port to joystick port adapter,
so u can use joystick-midi cable
OR parrarel to USB adapter, so that u can use usb-midi
or if u have pcmcia, more expensively, (and easy), u can get PCMCIA
sound card with midi connectors

Serial interface etherchannel Is it possible to make multiple serial interfaces into an etherchannel?

Maybe you would like multilink ppp.

I would ^_^ I found out about it a bit later, works great, but i also
need to deal with HDLC serial links now and again and i couldn't find a
form of interface redundancy for HDLC, does anyone know of any?
serial interface config hi
i use DB-60 back to back cable to connect to 2 2501 router . and find
the round trip(about 60 ms) is quite high when i just ping the

mtu 1544, encap hdlc...
If you configure a higher clock rate, your transmission delay will be
cut short and that should bring down your RTT some. Depending on what
cable you are using, you can use a higher clock rate. Do a "clock
rate ?" under the serial interface config and see what options you get
and choose a higher supported clock rate f...
RS232 serial port sniffing Hi,
Is it possible to sniff a serial port (rs232) communication between a hardware equipment and a PC from within matlab running on that PC? Want to do it purely through software, without having to connect a sniffer cable to a second serial port in the PC. Let me know if this is at all possible..

Help! PC not seeing my Midi interface Hi,
I'm trying to set up a Windows 98 PC to run GigaStudio standalone, and
I'm having problems with the computer not seeing my Midi interface.
The interface is a MOTU MidiExpress XT. I've installed the Windows 98
drivers from MOTU, but when I get to the auto-setup portion of the
installation, I get a message telling me that the MidiExpress can't be
seen. I know that it's not the interface itself that is broken, because
I have a second MidiExpress that I have also tried and haven't had more
I'm thinking it could be the parallel cable. I couldn't fi...
BASIC NAT AND SERIAL INTERFACE ON 1721. could someone please let me know why nothing is working..
My ISP supplied me with some basic config for the serial inteface, IP
addresses. But i can't get anything to work.
the interface is up protocol up but nothing is being routed, no pings
Any help will be very much appreciated...

SPD interface(Serial presence detect) Hi all,
I am implementing a SPD interface in an FPGA. The DDR SDRAM is from
Now to redd the EEPROM content(first 128 bytes) , first i will send the
slave addres of EEPROM over I2C(with r/w='1' , which indicates a
read). Now my question is will the EEPROM send all the bytes serially at
one shot, OR should i address which byte i want to read explicitly ??

DECnet over GRE tunnel with serial interface All,
I need help. We have some terminals with one server which run DECnet.
They all reside in the same area (area 1). They work fine when run in
the local segment (by using hub).
I want to exercise one of the terminals connect to the server over the
WAN (by using GRE tunnel) with two cisco routers with back-to-back
serial interafce. I have configured routers with DECnet routing (phase
IV) and assign DECnet cost to tunnel and fast ethernet interfaces.
The problem is, when I do show decnet routing, I see all the the
detailed routing including server and the remaining terminals at the
traffic routing between serial and dsl interface Hi there
I have a big problem that is on my mind a long time now
The scenario is as simplest as I can 123 be.

Ethernet on LAN
Serial 2Mbit on x provider with a c class for addresses
DSL with static ip
Internal machines run services on several ports and they have IP
addresses of the serial 2Mbit provider.
What I want to do is:
Route gamming traffic and services on Serial Interface
And everything else (including P2P programs) NATed and on DSL
No my thoughts:
In order to have services on local machines working and accessible from

an ISP ). All the internal PCs can access to the Internet fine. From my
office ( outside of this router ), I can ping to the ip address of the
external interface but I can not telnet or ssh into. There is no

is the default gateway )

New 8-port MIDI interface Hello all,
I am considering giving up my venerable Quadra 700 MIDI rig for a new
power mac, but I have a problem. My old MTAV has serial ports, not USB.
I am not thrilled about replacing it, but I figure I can consider this
an opportunity to get something nicer.
I use timecode but I don't particularly need video lock-up so there are
a few other interfaces that can do what I need. Has anyone had any
memorable experiences with any of them? I've looked at M Audio and the
new MOTU boxes, and I saw mention of an 8-port Edirol but can't seem to
find it in stores.
Also, can anyone comm...
Fingerprint scanner w/RS232 interface Hi group,
We have a need for a fingerprint scanner to be connected to our controller,
running ROM-DOS, and only having RS232 connectivity available. The idea is
for staff to id themselves as part of a security protocol to initiate
The fingerprint ids to match are relatively low, about 10 to 15 at most, and
some storage space on the controller can be provided.
Anyone have an idea of something suitable, preferably costing a couple of
fingers and not an arm and a leg <g> ?
Thanks in advance and regards,

Static Routes on 1721 Serial Interfaces Hello All,
This is my first forray into the world of IOS. I've set up a couple of
PIX firewalls' quite successfully and now am on to a new project.
Connecting branch offices with Cisco 1721's. I know they are end of
life but we have a number of them on hand.
Essentially, what I'm looking to build is this:
http://speakeasy.net/images/bus/wan/Diagram_Enlarged.gif I need to
setup the two branch office routers with 1721's and I'd also like to
have one 1721 that accepts both branch offices at our headquarters.
Each of the routers has a WIC-1DSU-T1.
I need to add a stat...
Interfacing a serial ADC to TMS320C5509 DSP Hi all
I am working on DSP implementation of sound source localization. so I need
to develop a DSP kit for doing this task. My plan is to use a serial (4
Channel) ADC like TLV2544 to send microphones (4 microphone) data to the
DSP for further processing, but I have no idea doing this.
There is some questions:
1. How can I do this?
2. Is the TLV2544 perfect for my need?!
3. How can I use DMA for reading data from 4 channels ADC?
Thanks for your guidance friends :)

serial interface PCI card for UltraSPARC does anybody have a recommendation for an inexpensive serial interface card
(four RS232 lines) supported under Solaris (8) in an UltraSPARC PCI machine
(Ultra 60)? No need for any fancy high-speed options, just for modems, UPS,
etc. I found that many manufacturers are not very clear about the OSs they
support and their cards are probably intended only in Intel-based machines.

FS: Passport Designs MIDI Interface I was cleaning up and found an old Passport Designs MIDI interface.
Last time I plugged it in it was recognized by the software, but since
then I haven't used it.
It is a standard size cartridge, with three DIN plugs coming out of the
back labeled "IN" "OUT" and "DRUM".
Best offer takes it.
Contact me, I have a great offer!
