Visual Basic and USB MIDI-Devices

  • Follow

I apologize, because I posted the following in the wrong ng
(comp.music.misc)...

Hi,

I am writing a MIDI-Tool to store and edit patches of a MIDI-Preamp using
Visual Basic.

By now I successeded with native Visual Basic Code (using the VB-COde Mike
Le Voi generated).

Those of my Betatesters, using an internal SOundcard have success in
sending and receiving SysEx-Data, but one of
my tester is using an USB-MIDI-device where nothing happens.

I'd be glad for any help.

Greetings,
Markus

In theory, USB MIDI ports behave like any other MIDI ports.

Using SysEx data works fine with my SC-8820, with all operating
systems and applications I've tried.

It may be possible that the driver of this particular device does
things slightly differently. What device is it?

That's what I thought too.

Thanx for your help so far,

AFAIK there have been quite a few driver versions for this device. A
driver update might help.
