I have almost the same problem !!
Machine is S5 PG730.
I have system floppy disk (one), but i don't no how to install OS on the new
HD (old HD is broken !!).
I have made a partition using HDMAINT, but I don't know how to make system
transfering from the floppy to HD .

system boot only from floppy, i tried to copy pcpm.sys on new HD, but this
appears to be an hidden file.

floppy image found on site mentioned doesn't work on this system.

Someone can help me?

tnx in advance

Hello,

I think, these files are SYS-files. Use the SET command to set the
SYS-files to DIR-files or use in PIP the r-option.

Hello again
Writing back the diskimage of PG 685 to a 5,25 inch disk is not possible.
Writing to a 720 K disk is ok. but the PG 675 has no 720K disks.
It is possible to write back the systemfiles. However these files are
related to the PG685. So useless for the PG675.

Strange. I have directly imaged the original disks of my PG675 with CopyQM.
CopyQM must write it back originally.

Hello, "Darksheep's Revenge" !

> I have made a partition using HDMAINT

A question: according to several mentions I have read
over the years, the original distribution disks were
containing one HDMAINT.DOC file, besides the program.

Unfortunately, what we found on the Internet is a copy
of a work disk. The doc file of HDMAINT is missing.

Do you have it?

Would you mind publishing it, so that us, Old Timers,
could continue to play with CP/M ?

Yours Sincerely,
"French Luser"

Hello,

I have send the 2 files again. I dont understand, why isnt possible to
rewrite the images? I have made the images with CopyQM on my PC without
problems. Do you have CopyQM installed correctly?

Arndt

I installed copyqm right.
I succeed in writing a bootdisk including systemfiles of the file
PCPM211E.DSK and also PCM105B.DSK.
But the created bootdisk is an DSDD 720K disk(80 tracks) because it is not
possible to convert it (with copyqm) to a DSDD 360K disk (40 tracks).
DOS converting with copyqm is o.k. but in case of "blind" (not DOS) copy to
360K, I get fault message "Disk to small".
My PG675 needs DSDD 360K disks.
My only problem for this moment is how to convert the imagedisk to a disk
that accept the PG675.
By the way. I do not know how it is possible but I have not received any
email with attachment.

I have send you an Email with the ZIPped disk-images again, yesterday. I
dont understand why doesnt received you the Email. Do you have an invalid
Email-addres or is you Emai-box full?
My ZIPped disk-images have three bootable disks for the PG675. It is the
STEP5 editing system, a test program and the CP/M86. My images must be
write back 40 track disks and must work on the PG675.

Arndt, maybe you are using a Yahoo email address to send the files? Just like
Jos I have a hccnet.nl address, and sometimes hccnet.nl doesn't want to accept
email from Yahoo.

Maybe Jos should get himself some free email address (hotmail, zonnet.nl) and
see if that works.

I do not understand why HCC should create a barriere in my emailaccount.
HCC should do something about it, so iit wont happen again.
My postbox is not full. My emailadres is correct.
Maybe I should stop my connection with the HCC and change it for another.
I asked Arndt to send the disks via Wanadoo. I hope it will succeed.

have send to me. Im wondering, why dont you receive my emails. I have

The next 4 weeks I am on vacation to france.
I shall contact the HCC provider and question them why I have problems with
my email .
When I know the reason I wil contact you again.
By the way.
Do you know where I can get Mbasic for the PG675.
Mbasic that runs under CPM2.2 does not run.

Please, Jos, try to be more specific...

If you are asking for "MBASIC V5.22 for CP/M-86",
try www.retroarchive.org
