I thought about that, but left it alone. Besides, some of the advocates

Possible, but unlikely.
After all, I'm not the one posting Apple adds to a linux newsgroup.

If you see this video as an ad, I feel bad for your apparent inability to
be entertained by a good magician. I don't see this as an ad, clearly
the device cannot do the things he does with it in real life.

Lighten up...

Well, DeepfriedLice, it wasn't an apple ad... it was a magician.
Of course trolls like you like to do the twisting, but unfortunately, it
is around your neck this time.

That guys handling of it was really amazing. Never seen a magician do

It's from a TV show called "Verstehen Sie Spaß?¨ (Do you understand
Fun?) running since 1980. The Brittish version is called "Surprise,
Surprise" and it's more or less comparable with the US "Candid Camera".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surprise,_Surprise_%28TV_series%29

And I agree, it *is* funny *and* impressive.

What makes the iPad Air shut off when the iPad Mini won't shut off?
The unpadded Belken cover automatically shuts off this iPad Air with an audible click whenever the cover is snapped tight: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7059/13913306488_84cd803d5a_b.jpg While the padded Belken cover does NOT shut off the iPad Mini, no matter what is done with the magnetic cover: https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7322/13913268909_075fc966bb_b.jpg Can someone explain why and what is going on, and, most importantly, what is needed to automatically shut off the iPad Mini? iPad
Being a big fan of my iphone I was considering an iPad but it seems the rumours regarding wifi connectivity were true. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/357085/ipad-wi-fi-problems-move-closer-to-the-router 'Apple has admitted to Wi-Fi connectivity problems on the iPad. iPads confiscated at airport in Israel!
Ipad fails to pass the RF power tests for Europe, which Israel uses as a standard for its wifi equipment. So, they are confiscating all iPads at the airport and storing them in Customs until the owners can have them shipped home. They are not allowed into the country to pollute the wifi airwaves with US power levels, which are higher. Is this the REAL reason they are only sold in the USA right now?....another RF engineering screwup? http://www.toptechnews.com/story.xhtml?story_id=033003QUBPKX http://www.socialtimes.com/2010/04/ipads-are-banned-from-israel/ http://www.go...

Writing iPad apps
I thought I saw a page that said you needed a Mac in order to write iPad apps. I use a Windows 7 PC. Is there a way to write apps without having to buy a Mac? iPad mouse?
To those who diss the lack of a mouse on the iPad: Have you ever tried to use a table PC? Have you ever tried to move a cursor to an exact point on a screen with small fonts displayed in a document or menu? I have. The tablet did not have a mouse, but it did have a stylus that can be used like one to point and click. Comes in real handy on a large screen. Typing by hand when the iPad is expecting bluetooth
My wife's iMac is down. We have an appointment at the Apple store, but meanwhile she used our iPad for her e-mail. She tried to write e-mail, but couldn't get the keyboard to come up. I turned on our blue tooth keyboard and she could use it. I didn't want to turn blue tooth all the way off in the iPad settings, because I'd need to reset it later. Is there an easy way to tell it to use the virtual keyboard? cannot send e-mail on my iPad 2
This problem has got me beat as I can't see why this is happening. I was able to send e-mail from my house but since moving into a motel (while my house gets repaired) I cannot send email from my iPad. I get a message that my email address has been rejected by the server. However I can send email from an Android device such as a smartphone. What is difference with an Apple device that is preventing me from sending email? I can receive email without any problems. -- Regards Brian On 2014-05-20, Brian <bclark@es.co.nz> wrote: > This problem has got me beat as I can&#...
