pthread stack size on HPUX 11.00 and 11.11
Hi all, I am developing an application which is linked with a shared library. My piece of code runs inside a pthread using default stack size of 64KB. I am calling a function inside the library. Unfortunately, the function defines a 64KB automatic variable. Since the default stack size on HPUX 11.00, 11.11 is 64KB, the stack gets overrun, and I get a core dump. Limitations that I am facing: [1] The shared library which I link is shipped by someone else, who is not in my organisation. [2] The thread in which my piece of code runs, is created by someone else, so I cant increase the stack size of the thread. So, whats the solution ? CDE/dtlogin differences between HP-UX 11.00 and 11i (11.11)
Hi, I have a HP-UX 11.00 box at work whose dtlogin displays a session menu when clicking on the Option button. This session menu allows to use the Current or Home session and can be extended with more session types. One of our clients have HP-UX 11i boxes whose dtlogin does not display this behavior. We just tried putting the dtlogin binary from HP-UX 11i on the HP-UX 11.00 box and we have the same behavior as our client (no more session than default and failsafe). It seems the dtlogin from 11i does read the files defining new sessions in dt/config/%L/Xresources.d but does not do anything with them. Is the "extendability" of the session menu a setting somewhere ? (couldn't find out) what dtlogin-11.00 gives: View: /view/x_r6jun99_1100, Build Type: r6jun99_1100 DesktopVersionString (build date: Wed May 26 15:10:01 IST 1999) dtlogin: $XConsortium: version.c /main/6 1996/08/30 15:33:21 drk $ and what dtlogin-11.11 (11i) gives: View: /view/x_r6hp700_1111, Build Type: r6hp700_1111 DesktopVersionString (build date: Sun Oct 1 10:20:39 IST 2000) dtlogin: $XConsortium: version.c /main/6 1996/08/30 15:33:21 drk $ Do anybody now how to get back the Current and Home sessions in the dtlogin session menu of HP-UX 11i ? -- Jean-Yves Burlett On Thu, 03 Jul 2003 10:25:59 +0200, Jean-Yves Burlett wrote: > Do anybody now how to get back the Current and Home sessions in the > d...

Gtk on HPUX 11.11
Hello all; I am trying to install Gtk on HPUX 11.11 and am doing a terrible job of it. I tried all the pre-compiled stuff from the HPUX porting center (including about 10 of the dependencies) and did not get it to work. The complied Gtk demo just does a core dump and even trying to compile a 10 line hello world file causes about 3000 lines of compilier errors. So I tried to compile/make all the tar files from the Gtk web site. This was worse. I was even using gcc for all of this. I have pages of error logs but I do not want to put this up here yet. Has anyone got Gtk+-2.x to work on 11i ...

Hp_UX 11.11 and X11
Sorry to post a question that might seem stupid for some experts but I'm new to hp_ux, coming from Solaris world (nobody's perfect :-) ) I've recently installed a HP box under 11.11 using a vt100 console. This morning, I tried to connect from my desktop PC using my usual X11 emulator (Xvision). I've got nothing more than a black screen. After some investigations it seems that HP_UX did not install any X server as there were no graphic device connected during installation. Is it a normal behavior or did I miss something ? If it is normal, how can I fix this (wasn't even abl...

Hi all, I have a huge c++ (32 bit) application which runs on HPUX 11.11 PA-RISC architecture. Now I have got a project to port the same c++ code on HPUX on Itanium. Now I have few doubts 1) Will the HPUX PA-RISC libraries and ececutables will run in HPUX Itanium environment. If yes, Do I have to use any emalutor to run. Please advice. If No, the does recompiling the whole c++ source code on HPUX Itanium is the only way and safe way. I use many third party c++ libraries, do I have to rebuild them all on Itanium. 2) Do I need to make any changes in my Makefiles as far as compiler flags are conc...

Q: "Managing MC/ServiceGuard NFS A.11.11.03 and A.11.23.02"
Hi! The current version of "Managing MC/ServiceGuard NFS A.11.11.03 and A.11.23.02" is dated 2004, and it mentions in the limitations (page 9) that all NFS locks are lost. AFAIK, that no longer true for at least two years. The version of the toolkit we have is "A.11.31.02". I wonder why there isn't an updated manual. I wouldn't complain, but that NFS toolkit bundle sells for about 900$ and what you get installed is 80kB shell scripts and a very short README... X11 and HP-UX 11.11 ?
hello group, I run a workstation under HP-UX 11.11 and X11R6. Is the latter threadsafe ? When I'm trying to compile an X11 app, the Imakefile requires a "Threads.tmpl" and Xos_r.h.
