linux (android) insecure by design - steals your money then downloads and installs trojans automatically

The virus was repackaged into the popular mobile applications from a
well-known app download site in China. Once installed on a mobile phone, it
surreptitiously connects to certain sites and sends text messages containing
the mobile device's IMEI number and other data to designated numbers
controlled by a remote server. Additionally, the virus receives commands
from the remote server to download and install software without user's
awareness. All these actions may lead to unintended service subscription
charges and expose users to other mobile security threats.

Just as well almost no "advocates" actually use an Android phone. Lots
of friends daughters, wives etc. But that's it. One even has a, errr,
Pixi or something.

No problem, Marti! Perhaps I did not mark my responses to trolls
with "[Troll]" consistently enough. My bad, if that is the case.

I see you have still not grasped the meaning of "insecure by design".

As for the original article, this malware is not a virus but a trojan. It is
installed along with some illegally repackaged mobile applications. The user
has to configure non standard application repositories and to explicitly
give permission for the Trojanned packages to install and run. There is no
automatic install here.

Because its nothing more than a meaningless sound bite.

You clearly know NOTHING about how Android implemented its
security. Next time you're clicking through "yes, yes, yes" on the
install prompts give it some thought. You're clearly smarter than the
average COLA loony.
