Microsoft, I-O Data in patent deal

Microsoft says it has struck another patent licensing deal, this one
with Japan-based computer peripheral maker I-O Data Device Inc. The
Redmond company says the pact covers I-O Data's use of Linux in its
storage devices and routers, noting that it's "being compensated by I-
O Data" as part of the deal.

MS: Nice little business you have here...it'd be too bad if you got
into some patent trouble...
IOD: What patents?
MS: Doesn't matter does it? You'll be sunk anyway...Tell you what,
though...just sign on the dotted line here, we'll make sure nothing
bad happens...Oh, and better make sure you don't tell anybody what
happened...

This is racketeering and Apple is now moving in the same direction (Android/HTC).

Apple invests in the Myhrvold troll too.

Abolish software patents and invoke the RICO ACT.
