the only retards in the world who do not believe in intellectual property
are the freetards in cola who have no intellect to protect.
even redhat knows that patents are valuable things.

What is the Value of Red Hat's Patents?
Linux leader Red Hat has now been recognized for the strength of its
patents, what is it doing with all that intellectual property?
According to a recent study from The Patent Board, Red Hat's patent
portfolio is now ranked 50th in the Information Technology category. The top
patent holder in the IT category is IBM. Red Hat's position at number 50 is
a 16 spot jump since November of 2010. Red Hat now holds 137 granted U.S.
patents as part of its *intellectual property* portfolio.

You have been listening too much and for too long to the cola clown who
calls himself "flatfish" and a few hundred other nyms.
As far as the serious Linux enthusiasts here are concerned, I think that you
will find that they recognise the three aspectswhich have collectively
become known as "Intellectual Property", viz:-
1. Trademarks. You will not find many here disputing that (for example)
"Linux" is the registered trademark of Linus Torvalds. They (we) recognise
trademarks.
2. Copyright. What do you think protects FOSS if it is not copyright?
I doubt that any Linux enthusiast here do *not* recognise copyright (I
exclude Raylopez99 etc, who seems to consider that S/W copyright
infringements, aka "piracy", are OK)
3. Patents. You will hear a lot said here about frivolous S/W patents. I
don't consider that Linux enthusiasts here "don't believe in them". On the
contrary, they simply think that the U.S. patents office is nuts for
granting many of the S/W patents that it does, and some think that it's
wrong to grant solely-software patents anyway.
So....where is your beef? How about a reasoned response, and a bit less of
the "follow my leader" wrt flatfish?

One day "there's no such thing as intellectual property" and the next day
there is.
Then another day software patents are bad and advocates refuse to
acknowledge them while at the same time Redhat is building up their patent
portfolio.

Only in the Linux / FOSS community and in particular COLA.
These Linux advocates define the very term hypocrite.

Your words, fsckwit, not ours.
Again, you *lie*.
Again, you *fail* in your Quixotic quest to paint us as "hypocrites".

I see that you're too God-damned *stupid* to understand that, as long
as software patents are a reality, a company like Redhat has little
choice but to build it's own portfolio as a defense.
There's *zero* wrong with anyone doing that, while at the same time
thinking that sofware patents are wrong.
