Windows Mobile lost 28 percent of its smartphone market share between
the third quarter of 2008 and the third quarter of 2009, according to
analysis from Gartner.

According to figures released by Gartner on Thursday, Microsoft's mobile
operating system had 11 percent of the global smartphone market in Q3
2008. A year later, it had 7.9 percent of the market, while the iPhone's
share had risen from 12.9 percent to 17.1 percent, and RIM's share had
risen from 16 percent to 20.8 percent.

Yeah, Windows Mobile is one of Microsoft's great flops. Amazing they
could screw it up so bad.

Their problem is that Windows Mobile is a hack of Windows (like a fork), which
is expensive to maintain and keep up to date. They know they should have
built Windows more like Linux (modular*). All Linux phones, including
Android, just pick the latest Linux. Supercomputers likewise.

___
*They even filed for a patent on modular O/S.

Not like creating any "smartphone" software is any great achievement,
though. Maybe MS just felt it was better left to the proprietary
manufacturers to figure out on their own, and focus on the complexity
of PC/server OSes that they've been so successful at.

I hear if you play the Windows7 CD backward you'll hear satanic
messages. But even scarier, if you play it forward it installs
Windows7!!

Wrong, faggot. I don't give a fuck about "smartphones". I don't even
like *laptop computers*. I think "smartphones" are for dipshit
suckers who want a retarded brick in their pocket, instead of an
actual fucking phone. MS is right to put that gayware on the back
burner.

What *you* think is at best totally irrelevant

Problem is: You can't "think" with that Toys-R-Us version of "brain"
you've got there. Pray tell: Is it the all-new battery run version or do
you still have to wind it up to "function"?

Does Ballmer ever get *anything* right? He probably should stick with
throwing chairs. It seems to suit him.

Troel was "lost" long-ago. Hopefully he's a young guy and will
someday grow up.
