usb 2.0 cardbus hangs laptop (ehci problem)

Hi,
I have just upgraded to debian testing (latest kernel) on my old
laptop. I hoped the newest kernel would solve this issue, but it's still
here.
I am trying to use a pcmcia (cardbus) usb 2.0 card.
It's found & usb driver are loaded. (see next). But when I connect an
usb2.0 device (such as dvb-t card) the laptop hangs until I remove the
card.
Googling I've found a similar problem, and it pointed to the ehci.
disabling ehci (removing the kernel driver after plugging in the card)
solves the hangs. But this way I have a usb1.1 and I need a 2.0 for the tv
card.

any idea?

kernel 2.6.3 USB 2.0 HDD (ehci) hangs after 100 MB
Hi, I have an external 120 GB USB-IDE-Disk connected to my USB 2.0 host controller. Used Linux version ist Mandrake 10 (kernel 2.6.3) on x86 Athlon and Epox onboard USB. The drive is detected, I partitioned it and formatted the partitions. While copying small files, the drive is quite fast (~ 10 MB/s). If I copy more than 100 MB on the disk, the whole system hangs until I unload ehci-hcd. The same configuration works under win2k without problems... It also works with USB 1.1 (OHCI). Kernel 2.4.22 (Mandrake 9) resulted in the same problem as soon as the EHCI-driver has been used. Does anyon...

Belkin usb 2.0 Cardbus with a Toshiba hangs on startup
Belkin usb 2.0 Cardbus with a Toshiba hangs on startup Here is a small timetable with this problem I have a Toshiba notebook satelitte 1115-s103. It came with USB 1.1 ports. I bought a Belkin USB Cardbus adapter model F5U222 Hi-Speed USB 2.0. I am running XP Service Pack 1. I connected a Belkin USB 2.0 external case with a new WD 80 gig. XP found the Belkin CardBus device on restart. XP found the external drive when I plugged it in. I went to MyComputer and found all three partians that were on the drive when it was in another PC working great. I can see all the files, when I try to open a JPG, I get a long long delay, and then this message. Windows Device TimeOut X The specified I/O operation on \Device\Hardisk\DR2 was not completed before the timeout period expired. I can open one jpg, then I try to open another, and it will not open it. control alt delete time :-( I took the Belkin external and connected it to my Desktop,it came with USB 2, and everything when smooth as silk. No problems Both the CardBus and the external each have their own power supplies. I can hook it up to the Toshibas 1.1. Works fine :-) I did get a message you have a high Speed device connected to USB 1.1 when I connected. Compaq PC with usb 2.0 sees the enclosure Toshiba 1.1 usb sees the enclosure BUT not the Belkin USB 2.0 Cardbus :-( .................update: For some reason the USB cardus decided to work once. All my partians showed up. All my files opened up fine. I decided to reb...

Something like FT245BM for USB 2.0 ? Parallel -> USB with real USB 2.0 bandwidth ?
Hello, is there a chip, in functionality like a FT245BM for USB 2.0 ? I found on websites mentioning the FT245BM compatible for USB 2.0, but i think they don't use USB 2.0, because transfer rate is "only" 1 MByte/s, which looks like high speed USB. Is there a faster parallel USB chip, which achieves more than 1 MByte / s ? I think with USB 2.0 there must be at least a factor of 10 to this speed ? Cypress has a high speed part that is functionally similar called the SX2. Evidently, they have some drivers that are similar to the DLL that FTDI distributes. USB 2.0 problem: Could USB stick have been the cause?
I recently had my T41's (2373-3kg) mother board replaced (on warranty) because of the problem described on the following page: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_USB_2.0 In short: My USB 2.0 ports stopped working properly under LINUX and under Windows. Linux+OS/2 integration options in eCS 2.0?
I'm planning to replace my existing OS/2 machine with something less archaic, and I intend to install both eCS 2.0 and SuSE Linux on it. I would like to have a display showing applications on both concurrently and to use a single LAN adapter to provide Internet access for both concurrently. Does anybody have experience running eCS under a VMM manager like xen? Which packages include a virtual TCP/IP bridge? Is it reasonable to use X for desktop integration? Migration of OS/2 1.30 to OS/2 2.0 or newer
Hi all, what is the chance to upgrade an OS/2 1.30-system with LAN manager (ethernet with plain NetBIOS), a C-written frontend and a Sybase-SQL-server 1.1 to a newer OS/2-version? The system is installed on a FAT-drive, print-jobs are created by the C-frontend for LaserJet-printers and send directly to the LPT-port or a shared LPT-port on a print-server and several OS/2 1.3-clients access the database also via the C-frontend. I would perfer using WarpServer 4 based on Warp 3, or even just Warp 3 Connect/Warp 4 (without LVM, JFS etc., so WSeB, ACP, MCP or eCS are not an option) the whole infrastructure may not be needed anymore because only one person still works with the system! What could be show-stoppers to care about? Thanks a lot for any answer! -- To Answer please replace "invalid" with "de" ! Zum Antworten bitte "invalid" durch "de" ersetzen ! PCMCIA USB 2.0 card powers down laptop on insertion #2
Hi, I recently bought a this usb card for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 4150). The thing worked fine for about a week, but now whenever I insert the card into the slot, the computer instantly shuts off. I tried the second slot, with the same effect. I also tried booting with the card already inserted, but it powers off during boot. I'm using WinXP, and have the appropriate drivers installed. Yesterday, I tried taking out my laptop battery, thinking it was some sort of power problem (as the battery is old and decaying anyway) , and the card worked again on boot. Today, I did the same thing, and the card now shuts off the computer again! Here's a link to the card I'm using: http://www.syba.com/product/43/05/02/index.html Can anyone help me out? Thanks! ...
