GVIM error on Mandriva 2010.0

  • Follow

I have a new error from gvim whenever I use it on Mandriva 2010.0. I
get a pop-up window containing this banner:

An error occurred while loading or saving configuration information
for gvim. Some of your configuration settings may not work
    properly.

The pop-up offers details, which contain this:

Failed to contact configuration server; some possible causes are
that you need to enable TCP/IP networking for ORBit, or you have
stale NFS locks due to a system crash. See
    http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/ for information. (Details - 1:
Failed to get connection to session: Did not receive a reply.
Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a
reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply
timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.)

I see the warning has "gnome" in it. I'm running KDE. I wonder how
that relates to the cause of the problem, if at all. I'm not trying to
do any remote executions, just trying to use gvim on the local machine.

Any ideas as to how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks....
