Macromedia Flash 6, Mozilla 1.4.1, Fedora Core 1

  • Follow

Hello everyone,

I have just installed the Fedora distribution of Linux, and am trying
to add Flash support to the version of Mozilla that is bundled with
it. I downloaded the RPM from ruslug.rutgers.edu and the
libflashplayer.so file is linked to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/, but it will
not show when in Mozilla's Help -> About Plug-ins list. When I run the
libflashplayer.so file, it reports a Segmentation fault.

I downloaded the the generic .tgz bundle and it also segfaults when I run
the .so. Does anyone have any advice or a link to a FAQ that would
address this issue?

Happy holidays,

Michael.

Fedora Core 1 flash-plugin (apt, yum rpm)
file:

flash-plugin-6.0.79-2.i386.rpm

*Required* RPM, from Fedora CD #3
---------------------------------
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.118.i386.rpm

Fantastic, Mauriat! I checked to see if that RPM was registered on my
system, and it was not. I popped the third CD-R in, installed the
package, and all is working now. I'm not sure how I got the flash RPM
installed without that RPM already there.

Thank you very much,

Michael.
