Hi!

Sorry for reposting, but this is IMHO to important to get lost
under the recent flood of messages. Just became aware of this
URL:

You can vote for new/changed features of groups.google, most
important the option:

"Default quoting of previous message in replies"

In addition put in the box:

Please enable "Default quoting of previous message in replies"
and give a short hint on probably trimming.

Although you could enable default snipping of signatures on

Thx

Michael Heiming"

Would be great if anyone getting annoyed permanently with this
"feature" would take the 30 seconds to fill out, perhaps if
enough request this option there's some hope?

Thx for reading and taking part!

how to reply to posts on google groups (and not reply to just author)

Many may be happy to know that it appears google has fixed their reply mechanism. For the past few days the default reply button has appeared as: Reply>> This does quoting the way it is supposed to. No longer do you have to make the *right* reply button appear by clicking "more options". Looks like they finally got smart? Anyway, should be less newbies quoting wrong because they are in google now. Noah Roberts wrote: > Many may be happy to know that it appears google has fixed their reply > mechanism. browser slow to change state of elements when style changed to hidden
'When my form is submitted, I have onsubmit pointed to the following code snippet. But, the button is not actually set to disabled and the style.visibility changes are not made for several seconds. It appears that it goes into validateForm and doing the rest of this snippet before the browser makes the changes. How can I get the browser to immediately make the UI change? Thanx. function submitForm(servleturl) { var submitbuttonelem = document.getElementById("submit"); submitbuttonelem.disabled = true; document.getElementById("modgradeform").style.visibility="...

There is some uninformed criticism as to the purpose of Google Groups. The purpose is NOT to promote one section or another of existing Internet Discussion Groups like USENET. Google is there to get ADVERTISING revenue. Just look at promotions on rigjht hand side of Posts. It is very clever that GOOGLE SELECT the promoters relevant to that particular THREAD ! If this worries you or your GROUP, thren pull out of GOOGLE. The option is yours ! I will still POST to any GROUP in GOOGLE irrespective of its history or origin ! Opera won't change the style information when I change classname
Hi I have two quicktime players. I load them like this: <object id="'movie" class="synligActiveXSpille" (...) <embed name="movie class="SynligSpiller (...) References to the two players are kept in the properties of the object ..loadingPlayer and .activePlayer. In the style sheet the class (u)synligActiveXSpiller changes only the z-index, while the (u)synligSpiller changes the visibility property. I have this callback function. The "thisElement" reference is simply the object (this): moviePlayer.prototype.switchPlayer = function (thisElem...

Google Groups and indentations
I don't know if anyone cares, but it seems like Google Groups is finally allowing indentations to be preserved. Now I can post code with indentations intact without resorting to having to place "| " before all my lines of code. (I'm sure this is a change that the Python newsgroups really appreciate, as well... :) Also sprach ioneabu@yahoo.com: > Tassilo v. problem with Google groups?
Hi, Anybody notice if there's a problem with Google groups? comp.lang.lisp on my machine says no activity for 36 hours - which is false. Google groups is amazingly unreliable at reporting how much activity there's been in a group since you last looked at it.
