Hello,

i am looking for way to track changes of filenames. E.g.
something like browsing in a list of all (old) filenames

Any input is appreciated. Thank you very much!

How do you define "changes of filenames"?

If a file with one word changed is written to a different file,
does that constitute a "change of filename"?

Until you are more specific, there can be no way.

Equally, if User2 sets a hard link to a file created by User1 has the
name changed? Certainly, you can refer to the file by the name that
User2 gave to the link, but you can also still refer to the file by
the name that User1 gave. How would you propose to "track" that in

Is it possible to evaluate a changing hash (changed within a loop)?
Let me fake an example for the problem -- Let's say I have a need to traverse through a pedigree to find certain (qualified) ancestor for a number of children, and count how many children a qualified ancestor has. This process requires evaluation of the outcome at each generation to be or not to be a qualified ancestor, or search will go on. I'd like to design a hash to hold the current element children: %examiner = ( 'John', '1', 'Scot', '1', ... ... ); I'd then loop the hash to search a database for the parents of each child, see if it's...

Can one track a change in filed data tracked who chaged a field value?
Have several fields on a layout that I want to track modifications to each field, not just a record. I only need the most current change, not every change. For example, Filed A conntains "Yes". If some deletes the "Yes"" value or changes it to "No" is there a way to automatically (through a calculation or script) determine this and then capture the user that changed the data perhaps using the Get (Account Name) function? Possible Career Change
I'm currently a software developer/architect (of 14 years) and am considering a move into the embedded/real time programming arena. My question is this...how much electronics experience is actual needed for embedded programming (I have an electronics qualification...but have never done any commercially)? Temporarily Changing Filenames
I have some data files with a *.his extension. The data is delimited using (;), (#), and (tab). It contains data in both numeric and character form, though only the numeric is of interest. I can extract the portions I want using dlmread, but it requires that I manually change the filenames and deal with the "File may become unstable" messages. I would like to temporarily change the name of the file from <filename>.his to <filename>his.dlm, so as to read in the specific ranges using dlmread, and then change it back when finished. Any suggestions would be most apprecia...

Track Design Changes
Hi all, I am searching for a way to track when a form/report/query is changed by users. For instance: 1) A user opens a form/report 2) The user enters the Design mode of that form/report 3) The user makes a change 4) The user saves the change 5) The user exits the form/report A report I have can show new objects by looking in the system tables. Is there a system table that keeps track of design changes and by whom? Or maybe the On_Close event can append a record from the design mode? Field-level change tracking
I'm working with a database that tracks subscribers and contacts for a magazine. My task is to synchronize it with a few other data systems. For example, when someone changes an e-mail address in the FileMaker database, I need to propagate that change to an online SQL database. When they change an address, I need to send it to a piece of subscriptions software. Is it possible to change the space between mathord and mathopen?
I have noticed that, in general, the space between an ordinary symbol (I think - correct me if I'm wrong) and an open delimiter is too large for my taste. In particular, consider the following (in either display or inline): \Gamma\left(\frac12\right) \Gamma(\frac12) \Gamma\mkern-2mu\left(\frac12\right) % Using a non-oversized argument we can see the difference more clearly \Gamma(x) \Gamma\mkern-2mu\left(x\right) As far as I can imagine, generally open delimiters after letters denote some sort of function arguments and therefore the closer version is more appropriate. Have I ignored an...

className change not working : possible Solution
I was just battling a small dHTML quirk where I was attempting to set the className attribute of option elements, but it didn't seem to be updating. I did some testing with other elements and came to find the problem was not in my code at all, but rather in my logic... I had a dehighlightAll(selectBox) function in my code library and decided to use this to reset all the options to white backgrounds. This worked fine with my previous method where I explicitly set the style.background attribute of the options. But when I wanted to use className instead, everything mysteriously stopped wor...

Is is possible to change the baseURI used by an XMLHTTPRequest?
I've got a web page that wants to dynamically load text into a div based on various parameters. I've got a page, CSS and javascript that works perfectly -- as long as the page is requested using a URI that corresponds to a real file path. tracking db changes / comparing databases
Hello Group, This question has been brought up on various mailing lists, but without any definite answers if I am correct. I am working on a system that can be used to rapidly create simple to medium complex applications in PHP. It basically features a forms-system, a reporting system, and database-user-administration. Thus, when someone wants to create a simple (up to, say, 10 tables) application, (s)he can create the forms, create a little PHP-logic (may even be unnecesery), et voila. Something like access, but webbased and smaller in its feature-set. PostgreSQL is the only backend at this...
