I tried to play mp3 files in Amarok using the xine engine,
and an error said that xine could not load the file. I'm
now trying unsuccessfully to get xine to play an mp3 file.
When I do I receive this error:
There is no demuxer plugin available to handle
file:/user/share/xine/skins/xine-ui_logo.mpv
Format not recognized
I have MANY plugins installed related to xine. Can anyone
tell me which ones I need to play mp3 files?
-Thanks

Hmm? That's reporting a problem about xine-ui's logo image. Looks like
missing plugins or a misconfigured xine-ui build to me.
Unfortunately, the telepathy plugin isn't working today, so I can't determine
which distribution (and release) you're using or whether you built xine-lib
yourself, so no specific help is being offered.

xineplug_inp_file.so, xineplug_dmx_audio.so, xineplug_decode_mad.so, and an
audio output plugin.

To determine what package(s) were missing from my Fedora Core 6 system,
I compared the output of "yum info" to "rpm -qa", each output to a file,
and found I was missing these:
xine-lib-extras
xine-lib-extras-nonfree
Works great now!
