1.2 at this time. 2.0 beta is still somewhat unstable.

Buy it and they'll ship you a CD.

The fact that you'd ask the question suggests that you shouldn't try
running a beta of anything. Stick to the GA version. A beta[1] version
is a test version, and should only be used by those willing to deal
with and report problems as they occur.

BTW, you might ask Serenity what the upgrade cost would be from 1.2 to
2.0.

[1] Well, except for m$ where the GA version is a test version.

Or just buy the Subscription Services when you buy the GA. That way
your cost for the upgrade is covered.

Bob,

Any word on release dates? Also, is SVista improving to include USB? I
suddenly need to have USB support in Windows.

We will have an updated status report on 2.0 next week. The SVISTA
discussion is more complicated and unlikely to help you.

SVISTA was developed by Parallels. Parallels was acquired by SW Soft.
Originally they indicated they would continue to support SVISTA.
Subsequently they released an updated version of the product as
Parallels (http://parallels.com), but I don't think you'll find an OS/2
host listed.

Parallels did not develop the OS/2 host. That was done by Serenity but
the code base we used belonged to Parallels. Without their continued
support, we are not going to be able to extend our current OS/2 host.
And we will not be getting further support from Parallels.

I have discussing possible options for host and guest support using a
different code base. possibly commercial or open source. I expect to put
out a roadmap by the end of the month.

That sounds encouraging. At the moment I am happily using VPC 5.1, but
as I say I have developed a need for USB support. Currently I have
another PC on the network running Windows natively, but I prefer a more
elegant solution!

Pythonutils 0.2.2 , ConfigObj 4.0.0 Beta 5, odict 0.1.1
The response to pythonutils__ was very good. Especially the odict__ module (ordered dictionary) - it's had over one hundred and fifty downloads already. Thanks to some useful user feedback, Nicola Larosa has updated and improved it. More embarassingly we've done a bugfix release of ConfigObj__ - now up to beta 5. Migration of OS/2 1.30 to OS/2 2.0 or newer
Hi all, what is the chance to upgrade an OS/2 1.30-system with LAN manager (ethernet with plain NetBIOS), a C-written frontend and a Sybase-SQL-server 1.1 to a newer OS/2-version? The system is installed on a FAT-drive, print-jobs are created by the C-frontend for LaserJet-printers and send directly to the LPT-port or a shared LPT-port on a print-server and several OS/2 1.3-clients access the database also via the C-frontend. I would perfer using WarpServer 4 based on Warp 3, or even just Warp 3 Connect/Warp 4 (without LVM, JFS etc., so WSeB, ACP, MCP or eCS are not an option) the whole infrastructure may not be needed anymore because only one person still works with the system! What could be show-stoppers to care about? Thanks a lot for any answer! -- To Answer please replace "invalid" with "de" ! Zum Antworten bitte "invalid" durch "de" ersetzen ! 2 USB ports on Canon i960. Can I use 1.1 on Win 98SE and 2.0 on Win XP?
The Canon i960 printer has two USB ports on the back, one for 1.1 speed and another for 2.0 speed. Question: can I hook up a computer running Win 98SE that uses only the 1.1 speed to the 1.1 port while simultaneously hooking up a new computer running Win XP to use the 2.0 port on the printer? Would it damage the printer if both computers were on at the same time or would I have to keep one turned off at all times to protect the printer. Never mind the EULA, yeesh. If I used a print server, I don't know that it would allow the printer to differentiate between the slow speed and the fast speed because only one cable comes out of the print server to the printer, and that would be the slow speed default USB port. ...
