[9fans] plot(1) to file?

 Hey guys,
I've got some data I want to put in a graph. I got graph |plot going
easy enough, which gets me a nice pic on the screen, but I can't work
out how to generate an image file instead. plot(1) mentions troff
which convinces me that it is possible, I just can't figure out how.
I'm using p9p, otherwise I could probably do something clever with
/dev/screen...

Troi File Plug-in 2.7.1 (Mac OS 9.1)
Saw it on VersionTracker, downloaded, installed by dragging to FileMaker Extensions folder. Confirmed that I wanted to replace the existing earlier file of the same name. Launched a solution which uses File plug functions. Promptly presented with a message that the plug-in can't be found. Odd. It is right where it belongs, right where the previous working copy was. Have advised Troi, but I would suggest holding off updating until the problem is fixed. Try it if you want, but keep your 2.7 plug safe so you can put it back. Matt ...

Dear All, I've just released the newest version of Mac Graphviz, featuring shapefile support and enhanced zoom. http://www.pixelglow.com/graphviz/ Shapefiles supported include PDF, EPS, PS, JPEG, PNG and all Quicktime formats. Either specify an absolute or relative (to working directory) file path, or a URL using the shapefile attribute. Developers can now also use the graphviz.framework directly with #include headers in C e.g. using Xcode "Add Frameworks..."; documentation is available from the main Graphviz site -- http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/graphviz/libguide.pdf Changes ------- Added drawer and zoom menu commands [DWa, NRi]. Added intelligent window zooming [NRi]. Added shapefile support. Added UTF-8 support [RSc]. Added cvtgxl, gvpack and gvpr tools [BSw]. Fixed page setup then close unexpectedly invoking save dialog [PRo]. HTML-like labels now work on 10.2 (use embedded expat instead of libxml2). Improved internal frameworks (added headers, consolidated dylibs). Tracked main build of 23 June. Graphviz is still free, but I'm now accepting donations for it. Enjoy! [9fans] Plan9 as an everyday OS

I played with it and I'd really like to study it and get used to it. Ideally, I would like to make it my "everyday OS", to do all the nice stuff you can do with a computer (a part from work and study), like browsing the web, watching movies and so on... Is anyone using it for such things? Is there, for example, a decent browser for Plan9 (I haven't found any)? Or a music/movie player? Plotting two files into one plot with different rows in two files
Hello, I browsed all topics about plotting two files into one plot. None of them = mentioned with different rows problems. The scenario I met is as follows: File A is babies standard growth file, which show babies growth chart based= on history data, like 95%, 90%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10%, and 5%. In this data = file there are only a 5 rows (born, 3 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month)= with 8 columns (month + 7 Y values). File B is what parents input. The times they input can be any dates in the= first year (365 possibilities) due to their various measuring time. I nee= d to plot this line also onto the standard's plot. =20 The current code is: plot "A.dat" using 1:2 title '95%' with lines 1, \ "" using 1:3 title '90%' with lines 2, \ "" using 1:4 title '75%' with lines 3, \ "" using 1:5 title '50%' with lines 4, \ "" using 1:6 title '25%' with lines 5, \ "" using 1:7 title '10%' with lines 6, \ "" using 1:8 title '5%' with lines 7, \ "B.dat" using 1:2 title 'your baby' with points 3 But this require rows of A is the same as rows of B. How to handle the problems like this. Do I have to use "least common denom= inator" method, expanding both File A and B into 365 rows and plot? I thin= k this is too clumsy. =20 Any elegant method? Thanks...

Most of the incompatibilities with Enterprise PL/I have now been corrected. ronsho.shoshani@gmail.com wrote: > Hi guys, > > Can anyone tell me please if z/OS version 1.7 still supports PL/1 ver > 1.1? > > > Thanks, > Ron. > I have used it in vendor software running in a number of shops - some quite large - and no reports of problems so far. I would expect programs compiled in it to run correctly for quite a few years to come. So, in summary: No worries! PL/I for MVS and VM still works great. Ah yes. "The last of the mainframe compilers...". The compilers written in PL/I (VisualAge and later) cannot produce a load module which can (correctly) be marked as RENT. Not a big issue for the programmer I suppose, but I do like that subpool 252 storage protection. (Actually, in my current job, I'm using OS PL/I V2R3 (with PL/I transient library ahead of the LE runtime library) on OS/390 2.8. PL/I for MVS and VM would be luxury. <sigh> DB2 V5. IMS V6. [9fans] Easy stating of newer files on Plan9
Hello, I have finished to add MetaPost to kerTeX and I'm testing and polishing. My aim is to have something strictly C89. There is one utility used by MetaPost scripts: a binary "newer" using POSIX (sys/stat.h) mainly because if on POSIX compliant systems one can use find(1) with "-cnewer", Plan9 has not find(1). 3 options: 1) Let this POSIX exception "newer"; 2) Drop this optimization (AFAIK) in the scripts; 3) Patch the scripts with "find..." for not Plan9, and some ls, cut, whatever line for Plan9 just for consistency. My preference is 3). What would be the prefered way using utilities available on Plan9 (and accessible for ape/sh) since the scripts are Bourne shell ones. --20cf3074b55288afa504d9b54bb3 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 As you may know, Apple has an odd stance against multi-button mice and trackpads. Acme works surprisingly well with just one button, with the emulation of buttons 2 and 3 with alt+click and cmd+click. I got some tips to look in Inferno code, since Roger Peppe had implemented a VESA driver there.
